This is the place where the New York adventure truly begins. Now! Back to Jude.
It was a sunny afternoon when I and mike had a conversation on the the steps of the Brooklyn Public Library. I leaned in, with my eyes filled with determination, and I said to mike, “Yo, man, we gotta start taking our lives seriously, you know? This city is full of opportunities, and we can't just let'em slip away.” I gestured towards the towering skyscrapers, symbolizing the dreams we both want to chase. Mike, a bit skeptical, raises an eyebrow and asks “why now, Jude? What's gotten into you?” I took a deep breath, my voice filled with conviction. “Think about it, bro. We're right here in the heart of New York, where dreams come true. We can't keep floatin' through life, waitin' for somethin' to happen, I went on to explain to mike why we need to become independent and why the time was now, with each word, my passion grew, and Mike starts to feel the fire ignite within him too. We made a pact to start living responsible. It was thanksgiving day, And this year the celebration was at my house since last year's thanksgiving was at Mike's house, this year Mike and his family are coming over. The air is crisp and filled with delicious aroma of roasted turkey and freshly baked pies.
The dinning table is adorned with a festive tablecloth, and the room is decorated with fall colors and Thanksgiving-themed decorations. The house was filled with warmth and laughter as family and friends gather together. Everyone is catching up, sharing stories, and enjoying each other's company. As the feast begins, my uncle, a well-connected and friendly man, joins the table. He casually mentions that he recently caught up with a former colleague of his who happens to have job openings for me and Mike as well.
Mike looked at me and we exchanged glances, intrigued by the unexpected opportunity. It was getting late and everyone had to go to their various homes, I and Mike wanted more details and information about the job openings and so we decided to have a private talk with my uncle, we asked about what roles were vacant for each of our fields of study. For me, I studied Business administration and with Mike it was computer science, Uncle Joe said from what he has been told more than one role were vacant leaving us with options to pick from, for mike, he mentioned roles such as software engineer, data analyst and cybersecurity specialists.
All these were an option for mike, and for me he said the roles of a project manager, Marketing specialists and business development manager were all vacant, we didn't want to keep him any longer so we stopped with the questions but we were filled with excitement. After talking about the opportunities ahead, mike also had to go home, I'm sure he was just as happy as I was cus this chance helps us cut down all the stress we could have gone through trying to get a decent job.
The next day, i was at Mike's house when I got a call from my uncle saying....
Uncle Joe: Hey, jude I'm gonna need both you and Mike to get your files in order, my guys from Google said they will start interviewing applicants starting on Monday, you have four days to put it all together.
Me: Alright, we'll start working on that, and thank you so much for this opportunity you've given us.
Uncle Joe: Anytime jude, I'll be with you all the way till you both get the job, I have to go now, but if there's anything you need to know I'll call you, Bye!.
