During dinner Professor Quirrell bursts through the doors yelling troll. "Troll in the dungeons," he says, a bit more calmly this time as he reaches where the teachers sit. Fainting immediately after. Students start to panic, rushing to get up and into the safety of their dorms, the prefects of each house desperately trying to calm everyone down. "Silence," Dumbledore yells over the screams. "Everyone will please not panic. Now, prefects will lead their house back to the dormitories, teachers will follow me to the dungeons," Dumbledore speaks calmly. Percy and the other prefect start beckoning us towards them, guiding us swiftly through the halls. I pause when I realise Hermione wasn't at dinner. I start to look around for a teacher nearby but don't see anyone. I grab Harry and Ron's sleeve, stopping them in their tracks. "What?" Ron asks, annoyed and confused at my sudden halt. Twin telepathy kicks in as Harry realises why I stopped. "Hermione wasn't at the Great Hall, we need to find her," he says, running towards the girls' bathrooms. A couple girls had been gossiping at dinner, stating how Hermione had been crying in the bathrooms. This will probably be the one time I'm grateful for gossip.

We run over to the girls bathroom but stop at the other end of the corridor, seeing a large shadow and hearing heavy footsteps. I grab the other two behind a pillar and peak round to see a large troll, walking slowly towards the girls' bathrooms. "It's heading towards the girls' bathrooms," Ron whispers urgently. The troll does just that, walk into the girls' bathrooms where Hermione was. We hear crashes and a scream and run forward to help. I arrive first, seeing the troll about the strike Hermione. "Hermione! Duck!" I yell. She drops to the ground just as the troll swings. The wood separating the stalls shatters, Hermione crawls away. I grab a piece of wood, throwing it at the roll to try and help, Harry and Ron follow my lead, throwing insults as well. I throw a large piece of wood that hits the troll smack in the face. Enraged, the troll swings at me, I dodge the first time but he bats me away with his hand instead. I fly into a wall and my vision blurs. I hear Hermione squeak in fear and the troll focuses on her again. I hear yells and see the troll fall down through my hazy vision. I hear the clicking of heels and see a green robe appear in my vision. I finally black out.

(Harry's POV)

Before I can check on (Y/N) Mcgonagall comes rushing in. She gasps at the sight of the knocked out troll and demands an explanation. Ron and I are unable to find the correct words to say, (Y/N) probably would've known. Hermione covers for us however, "It's my fault Professor Mcgonagall, I went looking for the troll. I read about them and thought I could handle it, but I was wrong. If Harry, Ron and (Y/N) hadn't found me I'd probably be dead," she says. "Where is (Y/N)?" Mcgonagall asks suddenly, not seeing him anywhere. "He managed to get the troll's focus off me for a couple moments but was batted away, he's over there," Hermione says worriedly, pointing over to the crumpled form of my brother. Mcgonagall rushes over to him and I follow. "He's got a heartbeat and is still breathing, he'll be alright after a couple nights in the hospital wing," she reassures me. "Snape you take him, I need to deal with this," Mcgonagall says. Snape picks my brother up carefully, holding him bridal style as he starts walking over to the hospital wing. Mcgonagall lectures us, take five points for Hermione's "actions" and awards Ron, (Y/N) and I five points for our heroic actions. "You'll have to see your brother tomorrow, its nearly curfew," she says before escorting us to the Gryffindor common room.
