David looked at the letter in his hand. He still hadn't opened it since his last meeting with Raum. He was trying to avoid finding out what was written in it. Of course, he wasn't sure how far he could avoid it.

David had never had the chance to meet Carla in person, but from what he had heard about Carla, what Raum had said was true. The Founders, descendants of Lilith, had a hunger for power and considered Lilith as their ancestor. They wouldn't allow their own blood to be contaminated in order not to disrespect their ancestor and to keep her name alive. They were families of different occult races, so they didn't have a problem with intermarriage. But they would never accept an outsider who was not of their own blood. This would contaminate their blood and make them weak.

Carla was of the wolf lineage of the Founders and now was raising a witch. David didn't know whether to be grateful or angry with him. Grateful because he had taken his daughter into his care, angry because he had taken her from David.

He took a deep breath, removed the seal and looked at the letter. His heart was pounding while reading the lines.

David Vasiliadis,

Your threatening behavior towards the Terumi family was disrespectful to us, the Tsukinami family, and even to the other Founders. Nevertheless, I will not insult you for being a father and for showing courage.

But I want you to know in advance that as the head of the Tsukinami family, I sincerely urge you not to repeat this behavior towards any of us, otherwise you will be shown no mercy.

I 'm aware that you still dare to come to our realm at different times. I would like to remind you again that you are forbidden in here. If your return is discovered by anyone other than myself or Lord Raum, you will never leave this place again. I advise you to stay wherever you are. You still have a life to lead and obligations to fulfill.

About Aya, even though I have sent word to you through Raum, it would be good for you to hear from me in writing. Aya is fine. She lives with me, as a healthy and strong witch. I am doing my best to make sure that the Terumis do not cause her any difficulties. Who knows, if she proves herself, she may resume her life among them again. But she will not continue her life with you.

I know you want her with you, but Kirin entrusted her to me and I don't want to betray her trust. It was Kirin who asked me to hide Aya and take care of her before the Terumis took Lapis. She probably thought the same as I do. It may upset you to know this, but I assume you realize that Lapis is weak, so Kirin's choice was the right one.

Your daughter knows about you and your story. Under Lilith's evil eye, I swear I have told her the truth. She knows you cannot come to her and she knows she cannot come to you. Accept that truth and move on with what you have.

Aya belongs here. She is a powerful witch, not a goddess. Her place is among Lilith's descendants, not among the gods. It would be good for everyone if you stop trying to reach her.

I advice you to heed my words, because I will not show this kindness again.

Yours sincerely, Carla Tsukinami.

David couldn't believe what he was reading. He wanted to write back or get up and go there. He was very angry, but not at Carla, he was angry at Kirin. How could she separate her children and choose between them?! Did she not trust him, or had David completely misjudged Kirin? No... David himself had made a mistake and he was paying for it with his daughters.

He sat back and tried to calm himself. If he let his anger get the better of him, it could lead to bigger problems and David couldn't take that risk. "Oh, was I that blind?" he muttered to himself. So a Terumi really was always a Terumi. He was a little hurt to see that the gods had been right.
