to say that jake was nervous was a huge understatement, he was leaving the country where he spent majority of his life in. jake wasn't ready to throw that all away. the lad bid his goodbyes to his mother and older brother.
jake wasn't going to be completely alone in this new environment, his father recently moved to south korea for work which means he still had family in the country he was planning to move to. jake planned to stay with his father during weekends or non-class days.
jake's dad bought an apartment for jake near the university the young male enrolled in. jake was lucky enough to have sunghoon as his roommate. sunghoon and jake have been penpals for quite a long time but they haven't seen each other in person.
the young lad looked back at his mother and brother, giving the two one last hug before he boarded the plane.
as jake got to his seat, he stared at the beautiful view outside him. jake pulled out a digicam from one of the pockets of his carry-on bag.
he snapped a quick photo of the view before resting on his seat. jake let out a relaxed sigh as the plane finally took off.
the young australian boy dozed off for most of the plane ride and he was lucky enough to wake up as soon as the plane landed. jake got off the plane and made his way to the gate where he would meet his father.
a huge smile formed on jake's lips as he caught a glimpse of his father in the crowd. the young lad immediately rushed towards the older male, pulling his father into a tight and warm hug.
"oh jake, you're acting like we haven't seen each other in forever." his father chuckled as he gently patted the boy's head.
"but dad, it's been months since we last saw each other." jake frowned slightly as his father started to ruffle his hair which caused it to look a bit disheveled.
"that doesn't seem long." jake's father joked. jake let out a soft laugh as he gently dragged his luggage with him as he made his way to the parking lot with the older man.
jake took a deep breath as he stepped out of the building, he observed his surroundings as a soft sigh escaped his lips.
"good bye australia, hello south korea." he mumbled to himself.
jake then quickly followed his dad towards the car, the young lad could tell that his dad was getting paid quite well due to luxurious vibe the vehicle gave off.
the older man decided to take his son to get a quick meal at a fried chicken place, jake was truly grateful for this as he hasn't ate a proper meal ever since his flight.
"so how's your mom?" jake's dad asked, taking a bite out of the fried chicken in his hands.
jake paused for a moment, munching on his food before answering. "she missed you a lot."
jake's dad only nodded upon hearing the boy's words. "i miss your mom dearly too, i've actually been trying to convince my boss to give the extra slot in our company to your mother so that we can all be together."
"i would love that." jake smiled as he imagined them being complete again.
the two got up to leave as they were done with their meal, jake's dad stayed behind to pay the bill and he promised that he would follow the younger male outside soon.
jake was waiting outside, watching cars drive by. the city seemed like such a busy place, he seemed a bit out of place since he could barely understand the language. jake sat down at a nearby bench, watching the people board the bus right across the street.
then he made eye contact with him...
jake was stunned, the boy had the most beautiful doe eyes. his sharp nose, muscular-slim physique, and tall height really made the boy stand out in jake's eyes. the young australian could feel his heart beating as he watched the boy slowly boarding the bus.
"fuck, is everyone here that handsome or is it just that one guy?" he muttered to himself in an unserious manner.
he watched the bus leave, jake pouting slightly. he knew that he probably won't be able to see that gorgeous boy again... or maybe he will soon.
jake's father finally got out of the restaurant, the two men got into the car and jake's dad started driving towards their house. jake had about 2 weeks before university starts, so his father decided that jake should settle in with him for the time being.
jake constantly thought about the boy he saw earlier for most of the car ride, the image of the boy's face never left his mind.
"it's probably just a mild attraction." jake muttered to himself, staring out the window.
jake pulled out his digicam, taking a picture of the view outside. it was absolutely beautiful and it felt like he was in a whole different world.
"i see you still like taking photos, people never change hm." jake's father chuckled.
"yeah, but i've gotten better with my picture taking skills dad." jake beamed with pride.
jake's father chuckled once again, "i see you've kept the camera i gave you?"
jake nodded, "of course! this is my favorite one... i will literally protect this with my whole life if i have to." jake said as he held the camera close to him.
jake's father just laughed at his son's silliness, shaking his head as he let out a soft sigh. "still cute as ever, jake."
