THE ROTHSCLINIC GROUP CHAT

Paris: I'm bringing someone with me today. Be on your best behavior.

Olivia: like a woman someone? Or like someone who wants to donate to the Clinic, someone?

Maggie: Obviously it's a woman! If it was a donater we'd already know about it. I can't believe you have a girlfriend and you didn't tell us, Docky! I can't wait to meet her.

Olivia: Paris Rothschild! Are you introducing us to your girlfriend!?

Philip: Paris, my man....hide her from Maggs and Liv. They'll scare her away, I'm telling you.

Olivia: Shut it, Phillip.

Maggie: Yeah, shut it, Phillip.

Paris: Best behavior. All of you.

"YOU'RE NERVOUS," I SAY to Reagan as we sit in my car outside the Rothschildren's clinic. Her pointer hasn't stopped tapping against her right thigh and she has yet to make a move out of the car. She meets my gaze briefly before looking away, her finger still tapping.

"No, I'm not," she replies, her voice a little too forced to be convincing.

"How many taps did you count? I think it's thirty but I could be wrong, "

"What?" She turns to me, her hazel eyes meeting mine and I find myself momentarily speechless. Christ, how is this woman real? Today she's wearing one of her signature black graphic t-shirts and it's falling off one shoulder and displaying a few of the white spots dusting her collarbone. Her curly, dark hair is hanging down to the middle of her back as she looks at me with a cute little button nose and hazel eyes more green than anything else. But it's her pouty, rose-colored lips that hold my attention, tempting me with how soft I know they are. Reagan's presence has always been captivating, but now, it's something more. A tension that pulls at me, making me want to reach out and touch her.

"You tap your fingers when you're nervous and you count them" I manage to say, with my voice sounding just a little hoarse around the edges. She falls silent for a moment, her gaze softening as the tension in her shoulders dissolves like it was never there.

"I think I'm ready to go in now,"

As soon as we step into the Clinic, a piercing, high-pitched shriek fills the air. My ears ring with the sound, and I fight the instinct to cover them with my hands. Simultaneously, a small figure with fiery red hair comes charging towards us, the building still echoing with the earlier scream. Maggie runs up to us, ignoring me completely, and just barely stops herself from colliding into Reagan, who has a sort of shell-shocked look on her face.

"Hi, I'm Margaret kolovich, but everyone calls me Maggie. Nice to meet you!" Maggie says, offering Reagan a hand to shake when I know she'd much rather hug her.
