Lina woke up with a jolt to her heart. The shock barely left her as she recalled the nightmare she just had. She looked around her dim lit room for a distraction from the thought. As silly as it may seem, the same nightmare has haunted her ever since she was a child. She took a deep breath and stretched her body as much as she could, only making her realize how badly she had to pee.
As much as she tried to keep herself from remembering the dream, she was well accustomed. The abstract images of her clinging on for dear life and the fear she felt. It did bother her how real it actually seemed.
"Honey wake up."
Her mother softly announced from the other side of the door. As much as Lina enjoyed peeing in the dark, she turned the lights on to let her mom know she was up.
And so there was no other way but forward, and she began getting ready for school. Lina followed her usual routine. On her way to school she couldn't help but fantasize about her nightmare... she'd read an article about how nightmares aren't completely useless, but they serve as a way to prepare people in case they end up in their most dreaded situations. After so many years she was way past prepared. She was entirely desensitized to catastrophe possibly striking her world.

Lately Lina had made up her mind on not giving a shit about school. She considered it a waste of energy as she had no interest in any of the things she was being forced to learn. If you could even call it learning. So as she intently stared at her professors mouth moving, probably rambling about a historical figure marrying their sibling or something of the sort; Lina discreetly popped in her earbuds and let her brain melt into her favorite song. Sweet release. Feeling very fulfilled, Lina gazed out the window. She watched the tiny birds on the windowsill come by, the tree leaves being swayed by the wind and a couple students sprawled out right under... She quickly snapped out of her relaxation as she remembered she could be scolded at any moment for nodding off. Sure she wasn't a good student, but she preferred not to be noticed like that.
However, all she could turn her head back to was the thing of her nightmares taking a bite out of her professors neck.
