Info needed for chapter:

This takes place after chapter 14. Eddie and Frank are out as a couple only to Wally and Julie, but that's it. Frank still tries not to show affection to Eddie in public, and vice versa. Though Eddie can forget a lot.

Wally is very patient, but gets impatient when being purposely ignored or feeling like he's being ignored in general. When he's aware that it's not on purpose but still feels sad, then he gets very upset with himself for feeling so sad in the first place. He'll also feel guilty.

Every time Wally sees anything that relates to butterflies, he immediately starts thinking about Frank and may even start wanting to be near him.

Barnaby and Howdy are never intentionally mean to Wally or intentionally ignoring him (Though, no one really is). They just sometimes forget that Wally isn't like the rest of the neighbors, mainly Poppy and Home, when it comes to how they deal with their own patience.

Wally won't go limp when being hugged if he's given a warning beforehand in my AU.

Barnaby and Howdy were talking with each other while cracking jokes, as usual. However, they were interrupted when Wally tugged at Barnaby's paw.

"Barnaby?" Wally asked in his usual monotone and mostly emotionless voice.

"Eh- Give me a bit, Wallz," Barnaby waved him away since he was distracted by Howdy. Barnaby and Howdy kept chatting and joking together while paying no mind to Wally, who was waiting very patiently for them to acknowledge him.

After about 6 and a half minutes, Wally thought for a moment before his smile faded into a less genuine one, since he can't frown no matter how hard he tried, and he walked off to some shelves in the back that had a large selection of items. Those shelves always helped when he needed to divert his attention from anything. (That, and red apples.)

Wally noticed a small blue and yellow butterfly plush on a shelf higher than his own height. There was a sign on it that said "Free" on it, which meant he didn't need to have Barnaby tell a joke for him or tell a joke to Howdy himself to get it. He was genuinely allowed to just grab it and leave with it as long as the item had a "Free" sign on it. Wally wanted to get the butterfly plush for Frank and bring it to him, but he couldn't do so that easily.

The problem? Well, the shelf was out of Wally's reach. It was about 5 feet tall from the ground, but Wally was only 3 feet tall. He was 2 feet too short. He couldn't reach it, which meant he couldn't get the smaller plush for Frank easily.

Wally thought about a solution. Many solutions, to be more specific.
•Let's get Howdy and Barnaby.
"No, we can't. We don't want to make them upset by bothering them to much."
•Okay... what about a ladder?
"No. Where would we get it from? The closest ladder is outside, and we can't lift it because we're a small body."
•What about shaking the shelf to get it to fall?
"No, that could cause a big mess, and we can't even move the shelf that much."
•Well... What else are we able to do...?
"I don't know."
•I have another idea. We could climb up the shelf.
"No, we could get hurt."
•I'll be careful, don't worry.
"Okay, okay. Go ahead. Be careful, darling."
•I will.

And with that, Wally decided to climb up the shelves to get the the blue and yellow butterfly plush for Frank. He reached towards the third shelf from the bottom and began climbing up. He was very light, so the shelves didn't even budge at all when Wally was climbing up them.
