Chp1: Starting the paid service

"Hah..."

I massaged my forehead while looking at my list of work in my notes. I couldn't stop thinking about the deadline. It was right around the corner. God damn it, why can't I work faster?

I rubbed my forehead while scrolling through my phone until someone tugged at my shirt.

"You okay there?" A teenager in a school uniform asked me. It was my brother.

"I'm fine. I'm just thinking about some work..."

"You should take a rest. Have you eaten anything today? I doubt you have," he glared at me.

"I did at breakfast."

"And what did you eat?"

"Just a cup of coffee." My brother sighed, then gave me a piece of candy.

"You need to eat at least something."

He began to nag me about my health and whatever popped into his head.

"Don't think I will forgive you for ditching school,"

"Please don't cut my pocket money this week.."

"Oh I'm sure I will,"

I ignore my brother and continue scrolling my phone on a certain app until I found a file I had downloaded a long time ago. The 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' novel! I even downloaded it just in case the novel becomes reality. Who knows? What is that one Malay idiom again? Oh yeah, 'prepare an umbrella before it rains.' Okay, stop being delusional right now.

I didn't manage to finish it because all the work I have. Good thing I didn't meet mr.artblock. Or else my works will get delayed. Why do I want to become an illustrator again? Oh right I'm pretty useless on everything besides art.

At that moment, the subway lights turned off, and the inside of the train became dark.

Kiiiiiiiik! The subway train shook loudly and let out a metallic sound.

Most of the passengers were panicking while I hugged my little brother to ease my worry.

After the train fully stopped, the other passengers started questioning what had just happened, and some were just as confused as we were.

"What just happened?"

"Is everything alright?"

"What is this?"

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Not long after that, the engineer's announcement could be heard-  "Attention all passengers on the train. Attention all passengers on the train."

The loud surroundings became calm.

- "Everyone run away... Run...!"

'What?'

There was a beeping sound, and the broadcast turned off. The inside of the train became a mess.

'I sense déjà vu.'

A bright light flashed from the front of the subway train. There was a loud drumming sound followed by a pop.

Something was heading this way in the darkness. I took a glance at my watch. It was now 7:00 p.m.

Then I heard something.

[The free service of planetary system 8612 has been terminated.]

[The main scenario has started.]

'I'm doomed.'
