"Who....." I instinctively took a quick step back as my body sensed something wrong.

He laughs. He is laughing.

I can't believe you forgot about me so easily, Ann. I guess my charm must have blinded you, huh?"

He laughs even harder.

"Enough with the nonsense; just tell me who you are and what your connection is to this town."

I can feel frustration coursing through me. Is he playing detective games right now? Come on.

"Woah Ann, calm down buddy. I'm Abel. Arthur's cousin."

I blankly looked at him.

Did I heard it right?

"So you're saying you are related to.... Arthur, which means you are Abel-"

"Caesar. Abel Caesar."

Wow. Cool. This isn't gonna end well.

--2 Days Later--

"I'm heading to the public library, mom. I'll be back home by 5pm." I planted a quick cheek kiss before heading to the library.

After graduating, I didn't really have a plan for my next steps; I was quite lost in the unknown. Throughout college, I couldn't attend many classes due to being in and out of the hospital with my mom. My sole focus during that time was taking care of her and ensuring she had the best life possible. I worked multiple part-time jobs, and our kind neighbors sometimes assisted us with various things. Aunt Alyssa regularly deposits a monthly paycheck into my bank account, leaving a surplus at the end of each month. I'm not bragging about it; sometimes I use that surplus to support charities and help those in need, including cancer patients.

"Good Morning Bri." The security greeted me as I entered the library door. Such a nice man.

"Today there aren't many people around here, so I can take my time researching some unrelated topics as well." I thought to myself as I headed to the corner of the hall. I placed my bag on the chair and set up my laptop on the desk.

Life is full of ups and downs, but that didn't stopped me from pursuing my goals and acquiring the knowledge I needed to achieve what I deserve. My ultimate dream is to become a powerful CEO of a company, and that's what led me into the World Of Business.

I placed the books on the desk and then took a deep breath.

"This is going to be challenging. Focus, Bri, focus," I muttered to myself, lightly slapping both of my cheeks before diving into the task at hand.

Not long after, a tall, muscular figure approached me from behind. "Is this seat taken?"

He smells expensive.

"Not yet."

Just an other a$$hole with different motive today.

While I was working, I found myself unconsciously observing him. It wasn't intentional, but my gaze kept drifting towards him. His hair is jet black, straight in texture; I'm sure he never misses his monthly salon appointment. He has thick, well-shaped eyebrows, with a small cut on his left eyebrow, giving off a bit of a bad guy vibe. His jawline is sharp and defined.

The eyes.......

Wait.

It looks familiar.
