Mikan Tsumiki, yet again, is another pathetic display for her classmates.
Her face flushed with warmth as her hands clutched painfully to that heat as if she craved it. Nails dug at her soft flesh, not enough to draw blood. But it was enough that they left those temporary indentations in her skin.
Through the cracks between her fingers were shining streaks. Tears and sweat intermingled in one, leaving faded pathways from beneath her bloodshot and tear-stricken eyes.
Her knees threatened to buckle all the while her hands refused to grasp at true support. Her knees uncomfortably shifted together to the point where they almost connected and only shook more. Yet she refused to succumb to her clumsiness, or, it refused to succumb to her. Standing upright felt just as shameful as falling over and she preferred it that way. Mikan hadn't needed to do anything but follow her innermost desires to make her classmates look down upon her in this bundle of emotions.
Disgust, horror, disappointment, shock. The list could go on! It was nothing positive and.. it was better negative than nothing at all.
Knowing that they no longer would ignore what was going on with her. That was the Heaven she sought this island out to be. She'd rather be hated than invisible, it's always been her preference. And now that she knows she's done all in her power to appease her beloved: what they thought of her didn't matter. That's what she attempted to believe.
If the entire scene laid out in front of the group wasn't the shock of the night, the fact that she managed to stay upright was as clumsy as a girl she often was. Her body trembled feverishly, every inch of her couldn't remain still. It was her anxiety and the thrill of a self-declared success intertwined into one bodily reaction.
To the class, her expression shifted between the two almost constantly. It was hard to gain an understanding of her true feelings at this very moment. There'd be this dizzying smile that was nothing like the rare but sweet occasioned one they'd seen. Her eyes resting, half-lidded, but... One longer glance could see them swirling in a grotesque delight.
A mere shift of the light could deter a differing face. The entirety of the room was well adjusted to Mikan's crying, the way her sobs sounded, and which corners of her expression scrunched. She may have been smiling and looking to be in her fantasy world but the tears still boiled over.
Crying was all she ever knew. Even as she'd gush eerily over this beloved from World Ender with a smile, seemingly pleased: she was still crying and they weren't tears of true joy. At the same token, she had been giggling through every word, too.
Her prior words of desperation and franticness, how they'd forgive anyone and everyone but never her, provided support for those tears. Even after she took back that pleading and insisted she needed no forgiveness but her beloved's the second time around. Her displayed emotions and outspoken words gave nothing clear of her true intent.
The kind-hearted nurse they once knew was looking past the collective without a care in the world for them. It was as though they weren't there at all. Her eyes were lit up, looking to nothing with a hope that was a mere facade of despair.
"Please forgive me, the one who's going to die with the hope of finally seeing you!" Mikan hadn't even acknowledged any more words from the group. With an echoey giggle and a tilt of her head like a stray puppy, she begged someone, hopefully, not present. Dragging her hands further down her face to finally free it and instead cup them together over her pounding heart.
She fell silent afterward. The only audible sound was the other students and her heavy breaths. Her trembling appeared to be more like shivering. Monokuma grated with the usual straight-to-the-point lines, cutting off any other commotion by announcing that it was punishment time.

Gizem / GerilimThus far, as I am creating this book, I have only rewritten one execution: Mikan Tsumiki's. This is because she's one of my favorite characters in media and the canon game butchered not only her character but the execution, too. Up until the very en...
