• Cam's POV •

* Jaxx jumps on bed,  attacking Cameron's face with kisses *

" Jaxx...!" I woke up jolting as the familiar weight of my dog pouncing on me. Opening my eyes I looked up seeing Jaxx as I tried to move my face out of reach from him.

" Okay I'm up-I'm up," I said with a laugh pushing the big dog off of me. I sat up stretching as I turned over looking at my phone.  I furrowed my eye brows at the weird texts I had gotten from people back home as I pushed the covers off and got up still reading them.

I had just moved to New York from California, and let's just say it's been a huge change. I left behind most of my friends and even my last girlfriend which I ended up breaking up with due to me leaving, but she seemed to move on fast which ultimately made me feel like it was only reasonable for me to too. I wasn't worried though, I knew that this would probably be a blessing in disguise -

I stopped mid way as my thoughts scattered, leaving me looking down at the ground as I noticed I had just stepped in something.  " Jaxx.. This is a joke right..?" I said as if expecting him to answer, but all he did was tilt his head.

I sighed as a sudden burst of energy pushed open my door. " Morning mom," I said with a touch of sarcasm as I looked back at the floor.

" Ugh- Jaxx.." She said shooing him out of my room. " Here go get ready I'll clean this up, remember it's your first day back to school so hurry, you don't want to me late."

I sighed nodding as I hobbled on one foot to the bathroom connected to my room. Putting my foot in the sink I cleaned it off and placed it on the throw mat on the ground to dry it off. After doing so I went back into my room, seeing my mom was gone and closed the door so I could quickly get dressed.

I wasn't dressing to impress anyone so I just grabbed the first this I saw. " olive green shirt, black joggers .. sounds good to me." I simply threw them on and went back to the bathroom to fix up my hair.

" Cam, you ready yet, mom wants to go." I turned hearing my sister Sierra as I grabbed my phone and walked out the door jogging down the stairs.

" Shoes.." She questioned raising an eyebrow.

" right here, " I said picking one up and examining it before looking at my sister and shoving it in her face. " Ew Cam.. " she said throwing the shoe as I laughed.

We both looked up as our mom came into the room with her purse and car keys alright let's go. I nodded smirking at Sierra  as she shook her head at me in disapproval. " Meet you in the car Cam let's go," I heard my mom say again.

I grabbed my other shoe not bothering to put them on as I decided I'd just put them on inside the car. As I walked outside, closing the front door behind me, I saw the car was already on, so hopped in.

" So you ready for the new school year." I shrugged " Just another year of school.." My mom looked at me and started driving out of the still unfamiliar development.

" Well I'm sure you'll like it, even though it will be a change, you do have some friends out here, so everything will be fine." She smiled rubbing my shoulder. " We can only hope," I smiled as I let out a deep breath of air.

" Starbucks..?" My mom asked as she clicked her acrylic nails against the window to point it out.

"Please..." Sierra chimed taking her eyes off of her phone for the first time through the whole car ride. My mom looked over her shoulder back at me to see what I thought.

" sure ," I smiled as I shrugged my shoulders and looked back out the window taking in everything.
