'Where are we, Maya?', Emily asked with her camera recording this special moment. 'Nepal!', Maya shouted with enthusiasm and a little disbelief. It was finally happening. She couldn't believe that the adventure she had always dreamed about was really starting now. It felt like a dream. It didn't feel like an internship abroad yet. It felt like one of Maya's two week travel vacations to a far away country. She had done big travels since she was a child. She had seen India, Mexico, Gambia, Senegal, South-Africa, Sri Lanka, Cuba, Ecuador, ... And today Nepal just felt like another beautiful country that she would visit for two weeks. In her head she would be home in two weeks to scrap Nepal off of her World Map in her room. But that wasn't the case. In two weeks she would still be here. She would be teaching in a school here and she would be living with a host family. It wasn't just two weeks and it wasn't just a travel destination. It was five months and hopefully a second home.
