Joker's POV
Fist after fist whistle past my head, I'm lucky that I have fast reflexes in order to dodge each of Batsies fist attacks. The smell of fuel and rubber mixed with musty dirt filled my nostrils, although each time I got close to Batsie I could smell his expensive cologne, I really wonder if I will ever know who is behind that mask, probably a hottie. Wait no what am I saying I'm supposed to hate batman. Swerving around the multiple machines that I turned on earlier proved to be disappointing in how little it affected Batman's battle path. Sure, I lose basically every fight with Batman, but it doesn't mean I can't try after all it is pretty hilarious how I thought I could actually win this one fight. Each speckle of laughter that slips out of Batsies lips brightens my day, God I would give all my blood for the sweetness of his laughter, but I swear I don't like him it's just that him laughing is actually just doing what I want, totally. Afterall bringing laughter to people is a Joker's job, is it not? Batsie seems a lot stronger since our last fight, he must have gone to the gym, I bet he is so buff under his suit, omg what am I even saying Batman sucks. In effort to gain some time against Batman I dropped a smoke bomb between ourselves and made a run for a small balcony that I had spotted earlier. Each footstep I took against the hard concrete stairs I noticed the smoke clearing. When I finally make it to the top Batman is looking around searching for a clue of where I went and I swiftly say "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?"
Batman's POV
You have to be kidding me yet another fight with the Joker, I was in the middle of getting ready for a night out as well, I even used my nice cologne, I hope he can smell it. Fighting the Joker is no odd occurrence for me it's like every other day with him he's like totally obsessed with me. It makes me wonder why Joker always chooses crappy old warehouses to fight in like I'm sorry but getting tetanus is not on my bucket list. Joker made an absolutely stupid decision of Activating the machinery I mean did he really think that I couldn't dodge each of the machines in our chase? The joker throws a smoke bomb between our frames and disappears for a second as I am blinded when the smokes cleared, He isn't in my sight, I franticly look around searching for his stupid makeup and randomly coloured clothes only to hear Joker call out "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?" Ugh are you fucking kidding me. His absolutely wonderful referencing to Romeo and Juliet was not exactly an attempt at some sort of a romantic gesture but no of course it is a reference to our first brawl. Around 5 years ago I was signalled by the bat signal that I was needed, so I 'suited up' and headed to the Gotham Theatre, the place that my parents met their end, or I prefer to say where Bruce Wayne's parents meet their end. Joker was holding an entire audience hostage who just so happened to be watching the premier of 'Romeo and Juliet' Leo's version of course. I look upwards to where the noise emitted to see Joker standing atop a small balcony where he is posing coyly as if he were a smitten damsel. Well, this may be able to make this fight a bit more interesting rather than it being like every other fight where it is over in ten minutes, I win, and joker runs back to his little hideout to plan his next debacle, he is pretty smart for planning our fights. I unclip my grappling hook from my belt and use the device to fly towards the balcony where Joker is residing. A harsh landing meets me against the rusty metal flooring that looks as if it will fall out from under us at any moment and horizontal metal poles making a barrier between the balcony and the long drop to a concrete floor. The floor was shaking below us from the rapid fighting taking place. It sounds dumb but I was seriously getting scared from the sheer unsafety of the balcony that we were stupidly fighting on I mean did we have a suicide wish; I really hope nothing happens to Joker... Pieces of the ground below us were crumbling away from the age and rust build-up of the metal. God we are being really dumb fighting up here. Each step I took seemed to get closer and closer to the balcony ledge. A smile crept onto Jokers face; his smile is so sweet in a weird way. I would give all my riches for his smile to be painted permanently on my mind. My back was flush against the thin poles making up the only barrier between myself and a long fall which would surely mean my death if I were to be brought back far enough.
Jokers POV
With Batsies lower back pressed against the metal railing I crept closer to him, I really love being close to him, but totally not in a weird way... A creaking from below us echoed throughout the large warehouse an almost as if a simple blink could have meant I missed the sight before me of the rusty flooring falling out from below the man stood in front of myself. I took a hurried step back dodging the possibility of my demise as well, staring below myself at the gaping hole where a lover once stood my eyes met his as his hands grasped at his belt reaching for where his grappling hook would have been in another universe although it rested next to me on the landing from bats actions earlier. A loud thump sounded and echoed loudly across the enclosed metal walls as my eyes clamped shut tight but never tighter than deaths grip around the soul of the man over there below my shaking frame. Slowly prying my eyes open his once amazingly strong but now frail body lay still as a statue on the freezing concrete.
3rd Person
His once dark but piercing blue eyes were now a dull grey showing the sheer weight of the pain and exhaustion against his soul, his eyes gazing skyward through the foggy glass skylight windows as if searching for solace in the infinite expanse above where he would call home in the coming seconds. A dark red wine-coloured dampness seeped from beneath his body coming from the wounds that marred his skin, a testament to the violence that had claimed his life. In his final moments, his thoughts searched to the memories he had held dear, but all memories seemed to include the joker whether it be their massive arguments and battles or their little quipping conversations. The joker's laughter from his last memory a clipping his mind saved from moments earlier during their last brawl now faded into obscurity finding a new home in the recesses of his mind. With a shuddering breath, he succumbed to the darkness, leaving behind only the whispered lament of what could have been.
Jokers POVOh god what have I done, why did I decide to fight him today of all days why here I knew it wasn't safe. I'm too deaf, dumb, and blind to see the damage I have done, this is all my fault and for what? Will I ever learn? Am I ever going to see his sweet return?
