Chapter 4

As busy as Junkyu was in reopening his shop, he also started to have quite a busy dream. The very next night, he jumped right into the next one when it was Haruto's friendly match. The athlete was obviously delighted by his attendance, as much as Junkyu was happy to be there, too.

He wasn't one for sports, but he enjoyed watching Haruto play for the first time as a professional player this time. Junkyu felt like he was watching 'the' Haruto from his very first dream but much better. His appearance might be exactly like the younger one, but he could see the huge difference in their performance.

Watching this version of Haruto pulled a few heartstrings on Junkyu. For some reason, his chest felt so lighthearted. He would even sometimes cheer for him and his team whenever they got a point. The nostalgia hit him, but ironic enough, the nostalgia came from a dream. Not the real one.

Post-game, Haruto invited him for their team dinner. Junkyu initially declined the offer, feeling like an intruder, however, the man was persistent. He agreed in the end which ended with Junkyu meeting almost the entire team. He wouldn't deny, he enjoyed hanging out with everyone. Probably the familiarity lingering around these strangers he's meeting for the first time in his dream helped ease him up. Haruto took good care of him and he never left his side, probably not wanting him to feel out of place. He's even more attentive to him than his teammates most of the time.

With Haruto's bright and easy going persona, it wasn't hard for Junkyu to open up to him. The comfort he could easily find whenever he's with Haruto started to get into him.

The next dreams came to him almost every other night after that. Although the timeline wasn't exactly following his own days, he figured that whatever hasn't happened in the real world yet, it won't be in his dream either.

They've been hanging out in his dreams for weeks now but he hasn't opened his pastry shop there yet despite the fact that it should've happened in his dreams already given the weeks that already passed there. But since it hasn't happened in his real world just yet must be the only reason why.

Time seemed to flow rather quickly in his dreams, as he noticed. But one thing is certain for Junkyu... that he has been enjoying himself hanging out with Haruto and the friendship they had found. It slowly made a good change in Junkyu. He always wakes up with a smile on his face now, and becomes motivated every day with what he does, especially with his shop, knowing Haruto is also as excited as he is because the guy shared he has a sweet tooth.

Jia, Yoshi, and Junghwan could see that positive aura in him. Although they must be thinking it was because of his shop, which also is one of the reasons, Junkyu hasn't bothered telling them about his dreams of Haruto. Not that it would matter anyway because for the few times he'd been freaking out to them about this non-existent Haruto guy in his dreams, none of them ever knew him anyway or at least tight-lipped everytime he mentioned Haruto's name.

Junkyu, as a person, has always had a grain of fantasy in his mind. He's open to all possibilities there is and would always have an open mind about everything. But before he settled himself into the reality of having this kind of dreams, he tried playing detective about his situation as well.

He did a few research about the human mind, seeking for a scientific explanation as to why it was happening to him. And he did find some, not just quite to his liking. He begs to disagree and call himself crazy, trying to form scenarios in his head, especially a total stranger he doesn't even know. And he even thought of seeking professional help.  But he knew he didn't need that... just yet.

Human mind is indeed a wonder even our kind hasn't fully explored yet. But whatever it is happening to him, it was easier for him to accept and settle on the idea rather than proving a point. That's how he came about with this situation. And he thinks it's the right choice because he's enjoying it, living two different timelines like he's in a movie.
