Chapter One // An Occasional Sneak
**Alex's POV**
I open my eyes, squinting around my brightly lit room. I sit up and wipe the sleep from my eyes, yawning. I unlock my iPod, I don't have a phone, to see that it's only 8:30 am on a Saturday. I peel the covers off my cold legs and stand up.
I walk over to my door to see a note laying on the ground. I pick it up to read. It says: Friends coming over, they'll be gone by 12:30, - Matt.
I sigh, he always does this. It's basically his way of saying 'stay away from me'. I go over to my closet and pull out some undergarments, a bra, socks, light denim jeans, a plain grey t-shirt with really short sleeves, and some black converse.
I open my door slowly, making sure it makes no noise. My brother usually keeps his friends in his room or downstairs in the game room. My room happens to be next to his, so I have to be quiet just incase.
I close the door and quietly creep across the carpeted floor and to the bathroom. I quickly close the door and lock it, sighing in relief.
I strip off my clothes and jump in the shower, washing my hair and cleaning my body. When I'm finished, I dry my body and throw on my clothes. I blow dry my hair on low heat and power, so no one outside of the room can hear it. Then, I put my clothes in the wash basket and sneak back into my room.
My room is like my safe heaven. I feel safe. I have all the bands I like posted on my walls, it just reflects me.
I go over to my mirror and put on my makeup, including some light foundation to cover some pimples and some really light mascara, the same everyday.I put on some pink tinted lip balm to finish the look.
The problem with having my brothers friends over all the time, is that I can't enjoy things like loud music, pigging out in the kitchen, having my own friends over. I make my bed and open the curtains. I pick up all the rubbish and clothes on the ground. I throw away the rubbish and put away the clothes.
After cleaning up my bedroom and hanging up the posters that fell down over night, I lay on my bed bored out of my mind. I left my computer downstairs, and I'm also starving. I can't wait until 12:30 to eat anyway!
I open my door slowly and creep out into the hallway. I'm pretty sure my brother and his friends are in the gaming room, because otherwise I would be able to hear them right next door to me.
Thankfully the stairs are carpeted, meaning they most likely won't squeak. I sneak down the stairs, leading me to the dinning table where 4 empty pizza boxes lay. I roll my eyes and creep into the kitchen. I grab 2 cans of coke and a packet of chicken chips.
I curse as I realise my computer is in the living room, which happens to be the room right next to the gaming room. The rooms are connected by 2 large glass doors.
"You've got to be kidding me." I whisper to myself, what am I supposed to do? I stick my head around the corner to see the lounge room, and the game room through the glass.
I bite my lip, wondering wether I should risk it or not. I look back at the boys. They're all jumping around and throwing PS4 controllers everywhere. I murmur under my breath, getting ready for my plan.
I launch my self across the room, and to behind the couch, where I am out of sight. I look over the couch to see none of the boys noticed. I reach my hand over and snatch my laptop.
