"Misery loves my company." Zoey thought, glancing at her phone that hadn't stop vibrating. They told me. Did I listen? No. I defended them. I stood by them and what do I get in return. A contract marriage and three overprotective men. Freedom. It shouldn't taste bitter.
She gripped the steering wheel. He's probably going to search every crevice of this town. He, all of them should know not to use women as objects. I've been clear on this.
She picked up her phone. A bunch of mad men is what they are. They know nothing about boundaries. Yet, I remain by their side. What does that make me? An accomplice? A loyal friend? I'm no better. She skimmed through her messages.
Charles's messages
"Come back. Please."
"Where are you? Can you please call me?"
"Are you somewhere safe?"
"It she the issue. I'll get rid of her."
"Come one, it's been 30 minutes. Babe. Pick up."
"ZOEY! Pick up the damn phone!"
"You're supposed to stay by my side. I'm your husband."
"Babe, please. Don't leave me."Kyle messages
"Where are you going?"
"Come on, you can be serious?"
"Are you seriously mad over her?"
"Don't be jealous? You know how Damian is.."
"I need my best friend. It's boring without you."
"Damien plans to search every single house, motel, hotel, restaurant...whatever is necessary to find you. Do you really want to disturb the peace of those that have not done anything? Are you going to let him hurt innocent people?"
"Look, come back. You don't even have to interact with him. I'll figure something out and let the girl go. Just come back. I need you."Damien messages
"Where are you?"
"Are you okay?"
"Are you mad at me?"
"Answer me!!"
"You can't leave me!!!"
"What the fuck was that?!"
"Get the fuck back here?"
"Sweetheart, if you think you can leave then think again."
"This town is not going to rest until I find you..."Zoey tightly gripped her phone. She took of her seatbelt. She was parked right before the next town. The sign, "Up next Luna Town"
She bend down. Her hands to her knees. She gritted her teeth. Her eyes narrowed. She licked her lips, shaking her head up and down. She glanced around. They know me too well. She stood up. Heaven my ass. They're as controlling as the family that I was born in. I just had to got to Elena's party.
This can't be happening. She paced back and forth. Stop it. Overthinking doesn't help. It just hurts more. When has it ever helped me? She inhaled and exhaled. She did this a couple of times. It was something that helped her lessen the stress and soothe her mind. I'll go back. Innocent people shouldn't suffer. She shaking got up from the ground. I need a plan. If I'm going to take control then I need a good plan. One that is unpredictable and targets their weaknesses.
