In 2008, the Jonas Brothers soared to the top of their career, having just released their second studio album under Hollywood Records and embarked on a whirlwind global tour. Teenage girls everywhere were captivated, their obsession fuelling a flurry of fanfiction centred around all three brothers.
Among these crazed fans was Charlotte James, an 18-year-old from Melbourne, Australia, utterly consumed by her adoration for the Jonas Brothers. Her room was a shrine filled with their posters, and every spare moment found her lost in the world of fanfiction, with a particular brother Joe Jonas.
Charlotte garnered a substantial following, her subscribers eagerly awaiting each new chapter. For her, writing these stories wasn't just a pastime it was a way for her to live out a dream of meeting her favourite band which she believes will never happen.
Little did Charlotte realize that one day, she would receive a message from a subscriber named Joanne, a girl from New Jersey who was obsessed with Charlotte's fanfic. What Charlotte didn't know at the time was that Joanne was none other than Joe Jonas himself.
