SERENA STOOD BEFORE THE MIRROR, her long hair cascading down her shoulders. She held her breath, her eyes reflecting sorrow. A tear escaped her eye as she exhaled slowly. Stepping away, she entered the living room and picked up the flowers resting on the table.

Slowly, she made her way to the cemetery, each step heavy with emotion. Finally reaching his grave, she knelt down. "Hey, sweetheart," she began, her voice soft and trembling. Another tear slipped down her cheek as she spoke. "I'm sorry I haven't visited much, it's just... hard sometimes." She wiped her tears away gently, not wanting him to see her cry. "Mommy wishes you a happy birthday up there," she whispered, placing the flowers delicately on the grave.

"I miss you so much," she admitted, her voice breaking with emotion. "Every day, I wish you were still here with me." Closing her eyes, she lifted her face to the sky, taking a deep breath. When she opened her eyes, they settled back on her son's resting place.

In the periphery of her vision, Serena noticed her ex-husband approaching. She didn't want to see him now.

"I have to go, baby," she murmured, her gaze lingering on the grave. "But I'll come back soon, I promise.. I love you." With a heavy heart, she turned away and walked slowly from her child's final resting place.

Serena Webster joined the BAU three years after her child was murdered. She was determined to find out who had killed her son.

What surprised her at the BAU was finding a new family, the one she had never had before. And unexpectedly, she found new love along the way.
