Unexpected Surprise

Idk what to title this. Anyways...another pregnancy imagine. Shocker.

"I'm pregnant." Hailee blurted out, as Josh brought a spoon full of lucky charms up to his mouth.

His jaw dropped as the spoon slipped out of his fingers and onto his lap.

Hailee glanced down at his lap seeing the milk seep into his grey shorts.

"Excuse me?" He asked, blinking rapidly as he looked at her.

They had been home from New York for 12 hours and she was already dropping a bomb on him.

Her lips parted so she could say something but she suddenly found herself frozen. She had mustered up the courage to tell him by blaring it out, otherwise she would've been a stuttering mess.

"I...um..." She started slowly before her mouth went dry.

"You're pregnant? Like baby inside of you, pregnant?" He asked softly.

"Well...yeah that's what it is."

He tried to read her facial expressions before he gave her a reaction.

"Are you happy or...?" He asked, trailing off.

She bit her lip and shrugged.

"Only if you are." She admitted nervously.

A small smile crept up on his face before he scooted his chair back and put the spoon on the table.

"Come here." He gestured.

She stood up from her seat and situated herself on his lap as he opened his arms.

He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head. "I'm happy—just surprised. Are you okay?" He asked.

She shrugged. "I don't know. It's very unexpected and really fast." She murmured.

"It is. But we've talked about having kids since our first date. So at least we know we want them."

She nodded.

"I just...had started to feel kind of ready to get back into acting and now this is setting me back. But I can't help but be a little excited."

"So you want to keep or no? I don't want anything to set back your career."

"I want to keep, I'm just nervous. But I know everything happens for a reason and maybe I'm just not meant to start acting again yet." She shrugged.

He nodded before kissing her forehead again.

"...when did you find out?" He wondered.

"Like 3am. I stubbed my toe when I got out of bed, I'm surprised you didn't wake up." She laughed a little.

"Aw. Did you think you were pregnant?"

She shook her head. "I didn't think I was but I've been feeling different recently. It's a hard feeling to explain honestly but it was more so to knock it off the checklist. I almost woke you up about it, I was in shock...but we got home so late and I'm sure you're tired." She rambled.

Josh listened intently. "I wasn't going to tell you this but...I had a dream a week or so ago that you were pregnant." He admitted.
