"Oi brat! What have you been doin' with your life?! It's past ten o'clock and you're still snoring your ass." a loud booming voice and a bang on my door roused me from my deep sleep. Fuck!
"W-what the hell?! Why the fuck are you here?" I groaned because its one of my well-deserved rest day after weeks of slaving to corporate work and now my mom is here giving me a hell of a morning.
"Get the hell up! You dad is downstairs, and we brought you breakfast." I swore in my breath as I reluctantly went up. I shouldn't have given them a spare keycard to my apartment.
"KATSUKI! IF YOU DON'T COME DOWN THIS INSTANT, I SWEAR I'LL BURN THIS APART—"
"SHUT UP! DAMN OLD HAG! I'M COMING!" I shouted back as I changed to my sweatpants and a black tank top.
"Good morning, son. You're looking great, as always." my kind father welcomed me as I descend with a welcoming hug and light tap at the back.
"Hi dad. How are you? I missed you." I tapped his back and released the hold with a little smile.
"Tch. You're so soft to him, Masaru. That's why he's so spoiled." my mom rolled her eyes towards dad as he filled the cups with coffee.
"So, why the hell are you both here? Just so y'know I've been slaving my ass to the company for months to reach the quota of production this quarter and those damn old geezers are not helping!" I rambled and grabbed the omelet. God, I'm so tired.
"The board just don't trust you enough as the new head. Which is why show them who's the boss Katsuki. It's only been 6 months as you ascended as the new CEO, so the fuckers are just dissing you and try usurping the seat." she retorted as she raised her eyebrows as she sipped her coffee.
"You're doing great son. Your grandfather will be so proud if he can see you fulfilling your promise of taking care of the company. The company he built singlehandedly. But please don't stress yourself too much. Take care, okay, Katsuki?" my dad consoled as he passed the bread and jam.
"Yeah, yeah. So that's why you're here? To take care of me? As I remember, I don't need fucking babysitters. I can do well, myself." I scoffed. The hell they're implying I can't take care of myself. I don't need anyone to look after me.
"Bullcrap! I received information from your secretary that you always stay longer in the office and sometimes sleep in. You only eat take outs and sip a coffee, Katsuki. You need a life! God, are you marrying the company? You're turning 28 this year and I haven't seen or heard you dating or fucking around. You're very single and miserable!" she pointed out. I looked at my dad to ask help from his wife and he just offered a curt nod of approval. I threw my hands up and massaged my temple, I'm feeling a vein about to pop.
"Can you please stop meddling with my life, you damn old hag! And stop snooping with my love life, especially if I'm getting laid or what. God, you creep!" I'm exasperated. I only slept a couple of hours and I'm being scolded for being single. But I'm not miserable!
"Son, your mom is right—" My dad added but I cut him off. "Oh not you too, dad! C'mon!"
My dad patted my shoulder. "Son, listen. We just want you to chill out. Go on a few dates or at least have a vacation. The company is important, but there are many capable hands in there. And were no longer in bankruptcy due to your best efforts. So just unwind, okay?" I listened and realized that If I don't agree, my great fucking of a mother will just set me up with surprise blind dates, so I nodded at him.
"Listen to your old man, Katsuki." she smirked, and I glared at her. "If you don't want to start anew, then why not just woo him again--"
"No. No. We are not talking about my ex, again. And as much as I reiterate, we're done. It's what 4 years already. If he really wants me back, he should have come back, I stopped chasing him, so no." my mom sighed and gave up. I know she loves him as my partner back then, we're the cutest as she labels. But no, I am done with him. He's done with me. I'm done with dating. I have a company to manage.
