CHAPTER 1...part 1
(Promise — Laufey)
FOR majority of Fiona and Scott's childhood their favorite movie was Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
For Scott, it was rather obvious. A main character with his name and the fight scenes? Sign him up!
Fiona liked the music; she was always impartial to it. But there was something about the movie's rendition of Black Sheep that honed in that love.
Her parents helped build that love, putting her in music class, bands (of which she plays the violin) and school productions.
Because of this Fiona became a rising star. Sure, her grades were particularly stellar and her dyslexia made homework quite hard — but that was what Isaac was for.
Fiona had known Isaac for as long as she can remember, years of memories between the pair. She remembered those days when pink plasters littered bruised knees and purple bands hold her hair into pigtails, when sticks became wands and tree houses become castles.
Over the years, Isaac became convinced that Fiona could've been more popular had it not been for him. He would be stupid not to recognize that Fiona's a pretty girl. Kindhearted charismatic and well liked, Fiona McCall had the potential to become popular --- and yet she stayed with Isaac.
'I'm not going anywhere.' She'd smile sweetly, his heart would beat rapidly and his cheeks blushed pink.
Fiona McCall was always caring by nature, loyal by fault -- it was her Achilles heel. She always had a granola bar in her bag if anyone ever needed it, ibuprofen for people who were feeling poorly. He did well to hide his father's abuse from her, not wanting her to feel even more inclined to stay.
To be far to Fiona, part of her did think that something between Isaac and his father was awry, but whenever Isaac would tell her it was 'just a lacrosse injury' --- well Fiona liked to believe he would never lie to her.
When she had been pulled aside by Sheriff Stilinski, inquiring if she had known of his abuse (of which Jackson Whittemore refused to report), Fiona swore her heart broke then and there.
"I mean, I had an inkling that something was wrong, but I never –" She choked back a sob, accepting a tissue the Sheriff had extended towards her. "He never said anything, always blamed the bruises on lacrosse."
"Did the thought of his father abusing him ever cross your mind?"
"Once or twice maybe. The bruises were always so far and few in between that I-I just took his word for it." Her voice wobbled as she tried to fight off tears. She felt a hand on her back, the comforting hand of Sheriff Stilinski.
When Fiona saw Isaac again, she'd done a double take.
There were no physical changes to his appearance, save for the leather jacket he now adjourned. He appeared more confident, a witty smirk on his face as he all but strutted into the halls of Beacon Hills high.
Despite this, Fiona ran up to him, beginning a profuse apology that she had been holding onto since finding out what all had happened to him. As she rambled, Isaac just stared at her with an unreadable expression – his once bright eyes felt...dull.
He wandered passed her, sauntering away without so much as a hello.
It had been sometime later when Isaac began to hang around Scott, as if they had been friends all those years Isaac had been Fiona's.
To say she was hurt was an understatement, to see them talking in hushed tones and laughing at jokes that Fiona would never be apart of. She couldn't find it within herself to so much as sit in the lunchroom, not wanting to have to see them longer than she had to.
Fiona began going off campus for lunch, unable to stomach the sight of Scott's rag-tag group. So, she took to the local coffee shop that was around 3 minutes from Beacon's high, drinking her regular iced coffee as she wrote in her song.
"What're ya doing there?" She was startled out of her writing by Danny Māhealani who, despite being Jackson Whittmore's closest friend, was alone in the coffee shop.
"Just uh, a bit of writing." She stuttered out, moving to block her every thought and feeling jotted onto the pages. "Uhm, not to sound rude or anything, but why're you here?"
"Oh!" Danny exclaimed, motioning to the seat across from Fiona to ask if he could sit, Fiona nodded. "I usually come down here to work on my homework, it's easier to focus."
She nodded, moving to write in her journal once more before turning towards Danny again. "Uhm, weird question, but are you any good at English? I'm pretty shit at it but Mr. Ander's basically refuses to help."
"Yeah, what can I help you with?"
That was how their friendship started, an odd sight to their classmates as Danny and Fiona walked together in the halls, going to kegs and clubs attached to the hip. It was Danny who introduced Fiona to Nick Archer, a member of the Beacon Hills lacrosse team and (later) Fiona's boyfriend.
That is where we find ourselves now, with Fiona and Nick making out upstairs at Jacksons annual kegger.
His hand glided up her hip, the other gripping her neck as their lips melded together. Fiona's fingers clutched his jersey, kissing Nick fervently, all tension leaving her body as their pace quickened.
She pulled away, both panting as they tried to catch their breathe. There was a long silence, only their breathing filling the air, that was until Danny burst in, looking for Fiona.
"Dan?" She questioned, attempting to make herself presentable as she turned to her best friend. "What's up?"
"Guess who just came in?"
She merely lifted her brow, wondering who could possibly be so important for Danny to interrupt her and Nicks time alone.
"Natalie and those twins."
KOREY SPEAKS !
how're we liking Fiona so far?
