Fighting the automaton in the junkyard of the gods, Percy sacrifices himself to protect the others, leaving a guilt-stricken Bianca, a confused Nico, and a distraught Annabeth. Driven by grief, Annabeth can't help but blame Bianca for what happened... And Bianca can't help but feel the same. The hunters stay awhile at Camp Half-Blood, but Bianca is wrapped up in her own thoughts and guilt, and Nico can't help but feel as though he's lost his sister too.

STORY: When Bianca left to go on the quest to save Artemis, Nico was left behind. Being a cheerful, fun-filled individual, he quickly befriends the Stoll brothers, getting up to all sorts of mischief around camp. Life is good, and he can't wait for Bianca to return so things will be perfect. But when the quest group return without Percy, things aren't as Nico imagined they'd be. Bianca is slowly drifting away from him and, even with his new friends, Nico feels more alone than ever.

NAME: Annabeth Chase
STORY: Getting kidnapped and made to hold up the sky was bad enough. But being rescued, only for her rescuers to tell her that Percy was dead? That sent Annabeth over the edge. Driven by grief, she blames Bianca. Thalia calms her down enough for them to all head back to camp, but she soon leaves to join the Hunters of Artemis, replacing Zoë. Annabeth feels even more alone and will do anything to feel whole again.

STORY: Thalia didn't know Percy for that long, but they were still good friends. Losing him still hit her pretty hard. She feels guilty about leaving Annabeth, but maybe the hunt is the best place for her to find herself?
