The Universe at Stake

( A/n: For personal reasons, I didn't really feel like writing a wedding scene. Sorry about that. )

After Y/n and Videl's wedding, Whis and Beerus were informed of a tournament that would take place in just over a month. With that information, they inform the Saiyans of the tournament and they all began to train as Whis and Beerus looked to recruit more members for the team.

Y/n and Gohan went to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and they now stood a few yards apart, both smirking at each other.

Y/n: Gohan! Are you ready for this?!

Gohan: You bet, I won't fall behind!

With that, they both let out a roar as they power up, Y/n transforming into a Super Saiyan Blue while Gohan used his Potential Unleashed form, they then take their fighting stances, mirroring their fathers' stances when they had their first fight.

In a blur of speed, the two rushed each other, both going for a punch to the face. Their fists land on each other's faces and they reel for a moment before immediately getting back into action, Y/n going for a knee on Gohan's midsection, but Gohan blocks the attack with his elbow before throwing a punch at Y/n's chest, but he blocks Gohan's punch with his forearm and they leap away from each other, both firing a barrage of Ki blasts, creating a smoke screen as their attacks collide. Gohan watches carefully through the smoke as Y/n flies straight through, his fist reared back and ready to strike, but Gohan dodges out of the way, just narrowly avoiding the blow, and while Y/n's defenses were momentarily open, Gohan knees him in the midsection before going for a kick, but Y/n slams his head into Gohan's, catching him off guard. Y/n then goes for a kick of his own, but Gohan sidesteps it before going to counter with a punch, but Y/n throws a punch as well, their fists and auras colliding as they shook the Time Chamber. For a brief moment, Y/n notices a red glint in Gohan's eyes, but it was gone as quickly as it came.

Gohan goes for a punch, but Y/n catches him by the wrist and slams his knee into Gohan's midsection, knocking the wind out of him, the hybrid dropping to his knees and Y/n goes for a follow up punch, but Gohan throws himself to the ground before using the split second to get onto his feet and use a Kiai to send Y/n tumble backwards, but he catches himself, gritting his teeth but as he stops him, Gohan flies at him at blinding speeds and punches him in the stomach hard, making him cough up saliva. Gohan then drop kicks Y/n in the jaw and into the air, but Y/n recovers before firing a barrage of Ki blasts at Gohan, who weaves through the barrage as he charges Y/n, but Y/n throws a punch at Gohan, who goes to the side to avoid it, only to fake him out and knee him in the side and follow up with a punch in the face, sending him flying backwards before he stops himself, and the two lock eyes, panting.

Gohan: It's hard to land a decent hit on you...

Y/n: Yeah, same here. It's not like before when my God power completely outclassed you.

Gohan chuckles and takes a fighting stance again and Y/n smirks as he assumes his fighting stance. They charge each other again and throw a punch at each other at the same time.

~ Meanwhile ~

Beerus and Whis land on a desolate planet, the planet seemed to be dead.

Beerus: This planet looks as lifeless as a corpse... Whis, are you certain this was the correct planet?

Whis rechecks his staff and nods to the God of Destruction.

Whis: Indeed, this is Planet Vampa, my lord.

Beerus yawns and looks around.

Beerus: And you're certain this Broly will be an asset, Whis?

Whis: Well, he is a Saiyan, Lord Beerus.

Beerus: Fine then...

He and Whis begin walking towards a pair of Saiyan energy signatures when one suddenly starts speeding towards them, Beerus sighs and holds up his hand as he catches a fist, which belonged to a large, wild looking Saiyan.

Beerus: So then, you are Broly.

Broly's only response is to try and hit Beerus with his free hand, but Beerus catches his fist again and headbutts the wild Saiyan, knocking him back. Broly looks up at Beerus and goes to swing on him, but electricity from the collar around his neck makes him back off and reel in pain.

Beerus: Oh?

He looks over to see the other energy signature, an older Saiyan with grey hair. This Saiyan is certainly an old one.

Beerus: You must be Broly's father, Paragus.

The older Saiyan nods and bows.

Paragus: Forgive him Lord Beerus, he isn't used to outsiders. Though for you to come here... Are we too destined to be destroyed?

Beerus laughs and shakes his head.

Beerus: Not at all, in fact, I would like to recruit Broly to be a representative of our universe in the upcoming Tournament of Power.

Paragus: Tournament of... Power, my lord?

Whis: Yes, it is a tournament that will decide the fate of our universe.

Paragus: I see. It is an honor. Broly will fight.

Broly, who had recovered from the shock, seems to be disheartened by the idea, but he doesn't speak up.

~ Back on Earth ~

The Z-Fighters were waiting on Y/n and Gohan to leave the Time Chamber on the Lookout when Beerus and Whis arrive with Broly and Paragus, which caught their attention.

Goku: Woah, who're these guys Lord Beerus?

Beerus: Well Goku, these two are Saiyans. Broly and his father, Paragus.

Paragus notices Vegeta and scowls, but doesn't say anything. He was afraid Beerus would destroy him, so he bit his tongue.

Vegeta notices the look Paragus gave him, but he shrugs it off.

Vegeta: I wasn't aware there were more of us... A pleasant surprise, I suppose.

Beerus: Indeed, Broly will be fighting.

Piccolo: Wait a second, only Broly is fighting?

Beerus: That's correct, Broly is by far more useful in a fight.

Vegeta scoffs.

Vegeta: An old gray Saiyan who can't even fight... Why bring him?

Beerus: Vegeta, keep your ideas of who should be here to yourself, I do not wish to hear any infighting.

Their attention shifts to the doors that lead to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber as Y/n and Gohan step out.

Beerus: Well then, you two are finally done. Good, then we can head out. Get yourselves ready, we'll be heading to the location of the tournament soon enough.

Y/n and Gohan look over to Broly and Paragus.

Y/n: So who's-

Beerus: I'll explain to the two of you soon, now get ready.
