They say there is a saying when it comes to people and heart breaks. If the person you truly love is set free, they will come back if it's meant to be.

Yes, my ex-boyfriend, Kyle Charles, left me. When I say he left, he packed up all his things and was gone without any notice to me, his friends, or his family. We dated for a year and three months almost. Kyle and I were total opposites when it came to our personalities. Kyle was wild, crazy, uncontrollable, cocky, angry, and unhelpful. Where I was anything, but those things. I'm not really sure why I convinced myself to love him; I just think he was only guy I trusted myself with, even though he gave me every reason not to. I tried my best to be perfect for him, but I have came to the conclusion I wasn't good enough for him.

The only thing about losing Kyle that surprised everyone that I didn't even let one tear go down my cheek, not once. I couldn't stand the thought of anyone knowing that Kyle affected me. I just kept all the emotions all in and never let them out once. My brother's thought I was in shock, but I never really told them the truth, I had to, especially because of the way my family treated one another, but that is another story for another time.

Day after day went by and there was no sign of Kyle. His family gave up hope, friends forgot about him, and yet, he still never left my mind. Until yesterday.

The first day after winter break is always hectic.

Teenagers go from room to room, grabbing papers, finding notebooks, taking notes, finishing missing assignments. Everywhere you turn, you see boys and girls going from one end of the hall to the other, trying to gather up as much schoolwork as they can, trying to pass twelfth grade. I have already finished all of the work due long before school started back.

As I close my locker, I am engulfed into a bear hug. I stand there in shock and then take in the perky perfume. I manage a giggle and wrap my arms around her in return.

"I missed you like crazy. Guess it's true when they say a girl can't live without her best friend," Laci Parks said in my ear with a big goofy grin, then squeezing me tighter not letting go.

"Hey now, no PDA kids," Lucas Powers says, one of my closet guy friends.

"Hands off," Riley William, another long time friend, chuckles out and then saying,"My baby can only be touched by me."

"Oh shush, you big goof," Laci giggles out, lightly smacking his shoulder. I chuckle at his response.

"I love you did you know that?" Riley says, pulling Laci into a hug, with her arms around his waist and her head snuggled in to his chest.

"Of course I know that and I love you too," Laci says smiling, then giving him a sweet, long kiss on the lips.

"I'm leaving on that note," I say giggling, slamming my locker door and walking into my first period class room. I smile and nod at Mrs. Tant and then make my way to the left of the room, towards the back. I take a seat and wait for the rest of crew to come inside. All three pile in, laughing about what I'm guessing is a funny joke. Laci looks back and sees me, smiling. Laci sits in front of me, Riley to her side, and Lucas to my side. Perfect square. Laci begins rambling to Riley about a special date she has planned for them both tonight. I sigh and flop my head down on my desk.

"What is wrong Pay?" Laci ask sounding sincere. I groan and look up into her big brown eyes. I can see why Riley fell for her. Laci has long dirty blonde hair that ends right below her chest, falling into almost perfect curls. She is as skinny as a tooth pick, but can constantly eating till there is no tomorrow. Laci is as tall as me, in the short range, 5'5.With her big dark eyes and flawless face, it would make any guy look twice at her.

"Just.... tired," I mange out before flopping my head down again. I can feel Laci lean in.

"We'll talk about it later," she whispers, then turning back to the guys picking up the conversation. I roll my eyes and begin to attempt to pay attention to Mrs. Tant and her English lesson.

Second bell cannot ring fast enough, but as soon as it does, I zip out the door.

I switch out note books and quickly grab a pen then making my way to history. I am never late, but might as well not start now.

I smile at a few students and enter the classroom. I go towards my seat in the back, but it was taken. I look into a pair of deep blue eyes and I freeze. I don't know how long I was staring, but I shake my head and turn around in the oppsite direction, but a warm hand gently grabs my wrist.

"I am sorry, but is this your seat?" a deep voice ask. I look into his deep ocean blue eyes once again. I can barely manage out a response.

"It was, but it's yours now," I say.

"I'm sorry, I didnt mean to take it," the handsome guy says.

"Oh please, it's no big deal. I'll find somewhere else to sit," I say, shaking my wrist away. I make my way to a seat beside the door, all alone. I smile and sit down. I begin copying notes from the board as a figure approaches me.

"You didn't have to do that," He says.

"It's okay, really. Just go sit down before I change my mind," I say giggling. The guy smiles and offers his hand.

"I'm Bradley and who might you be?" Bradley says. I take his hand.

"Payton. I guess I'll see you around new guy," I say smiling back.

"Yes, you will," Bradley says with a wink. He walks away, but turns around to offer me a smile. I give flash my teeth and then begin my notes again. Once the bell rings signaling to be let out of class. I close my binder and swiftly walk out of the classroom, speed walking back to my locker. Finally fifth period comes around, being lunch. As I got my tray, I scanned the courtyard for my friends. I spotted Laci under the big oak tree in the middle of the courtyard, our usual spot. I plopped right beside her and begin conversation with her. Then she ask the question that catches me off guard.

"What was wrong with you earlier this morning?" She ask with a concerned face.

"Nothing Lace, I wa-" I say before being cutoff.

"Don't you nothing me. Seriously Pay,what was going on?" Laci ask, putting down her sandwich and staring intensely at me.

"I was thinking about Kyle again," I begin shaking my head but then continuing, "but never mind him, I met the new guy today, Bradley."

"Hot new guy? Chocolate brown hair? Cut short? Tall? Handsome face? Beautiful blue eyes?" She manges out. I laugh.

"That's the guy." I say, smiling.

"Oh my god, Pay. You like him." She giggles out.

"No no no. He's just a friend," I reply.

"Whatever you say, but I know your lying," Laci says winking. I blush a deep crimson. Little did I know, she was telling the truth.
