I'm walking along the sidewalk, "The Fall" by LoveJoy blasting full volume through my earbuds. I receive a notification on my phone, it's an unknown phone number. The text says, "Hello Alloe, I'll see you soon ;)."
"What the fuck?" I say aloud. I delete and report the number scam. The second I put my phone in my hoodie pocket, it vibrates again. It's another text message, but from Amalia.
I open my phone, "Hey baby, I'm getting a group of people together on Saturday night for my 15th birthday, It's going to be from 3 to 12. ❤️"
I smile and text her back, "I'll ask my sis when I get home❤️" Saturday just also happened to be our one year anniversary, apparently it's a huge thing for highschool kids, because they can't keep a relationship for shit.

I get home and kick off my tennis shoes by the front door, making sure they're on the mat. I take my earbuds out, pause my music and put my phone in my pocket. Even though it is only 3:30, my sister is already making dinner at the kitchen counter.
Great, she's in her natural habitat, this is the perfect time to ask her. I think.
I try to casually walk up to her. I hop up on the counter and watch her cut some peppers.
I take a deep breath, "Heyyyyy sis, I wondering if I could go somewhere on Saturday night for a friends birthday party?" She sighs and looks up at me, "What do you think the answer is?" I put on a fake happy tone, "So that's a yes!"
I hop off the counter and begin to walk off before she blocks my path. "Nice try smartass, but you can't get away that quickly. I need to know who, when, where, and how." I pull out my phone and show her my most recent text from Amalia.
It says, "My mom is driving us to the campsite at 3, we'll set up camp and then we can do whatever while she cooks dinner. Then we'll eat and leave around 12."
My sister inhales, "12, why so late?" I respond, "She wants to have the whole day to celebrate." I shrug my shoulders. She sighs, "I guess you can go." I hug her and exclaim, "Thanks asshat!" She playfully punches me and shouts, "Dickhead!" I walk to my room and toss my school bag on the floor. I look at my phone and see I have about two hours until my soccer game.
I text a theatre group chat, "Hey guys, I have a soccer game tonight from 5-8 out at the complex if you guys want to come!" I know at least three of them will show up, we always showed up for each other's plays, games, and just about anything else.

I show up at the field and toss my bag onto the field. I see some kids are already there so I tie my shoes and hop in the goal. I was on a travel team and we finally had a home game, so everyone usually got there early to have more time to warm up. I was usually the goalie, and if the other goalie wanted a turn, I would go to center offense.
Coach got there and we started warmups, we did two sets of ladders, and a shit ton of passing and shooting drills. Now it was 4pm and we left the field to get a small snack from the concessions.
I walk back to the field and spot Kai, Hallie, and Tom, sitting I their chairs by our side of the benches. We sit and chat, I find out they've also been invited to Amalia's B-Day party.
After about 30 minutes, we take our positions on the field and the game begins.
