"Day, I'm hungry" Day's name was called throughout the night as Day picked basil leaves from the back of the house. Day planted a vegetable garden behind the house, such as basil, fennel fronds, lemongrass, kaffir lime, pepper, parsley.
"Are you not seeing me?" Day responded as he saw his lover leaving the house with a smile.
"Hurry up, I'm really hungry" Brick said again.
"Before I went home, I asked if you wanted to eat and you said no, and now that I'm busy, can you order food for me?" Day said in a normal voice, not blaming his lover.
"Well, I want to eat cooked rice here. When you were ordered, I really missed your food" Brick said in a soft, pleading voice. Day turned to look at his lover's face.
"Brick, I've only been dressed up for a month, have you missed my cooking so much? Aren't you bored?" Day asked. Now Day's hair is back. Brick refused to eat out for a while.
Day wasn't tired of doing it either, he was willing to do it for his lover. He always made food for him, but he thought Brick might get a little bored and didn't say anything.
"I'm not bored. If I was bored, why would I ask you to cook for me?" Brick replied. So Day stopped planting and walked home to cook for Brick.
"Have you cooked the rice yet?" Day asked, because he added this duty to Brick.
"It's finished. It's almost done" Brick went to look at the fire in the stove in rice cooker and turned to look at the back of his lover who was preparing to cook for him to eat. During the time Day was ordained, I felt how painful the distance was. Brick missed him and wanted to see him, but all he could do was text him because Day wouldn't let him go to the temple. He only did this once with his parents, because Day was also on a mission to help the abbot frequently. At the time, Brick could barely eat something, his weight had dropped considerably.
Day after day, Brick just worked, watching the garage for Day as much as he could. After work, he would eat with his parents. Sometimes his friends came to visit, but he didn't hang out with them other than going to the mall because Brick didn't want Day to worry, although Day didn't know that.
Brick walked over to hug his lover's back with his face pressed against Day's shoulder, causing Day to freeze a little, then he turned to face Brick and went back to cooking normally.
"What is it?" Day asked softly as Brick still held him.
"I miss you" Brick replied softly. Day slight smile from the corners of his mouth.
"Why do you miss me? I'm here, by your side," Day asked.
"That's when you asked for it, I missed you so much" Brick replied with a serious tone.
"It's too much. Let me go. Don't you want to eat?" Day told Brick to stop hugging him, as it wasn't good to cook with Brick hugging him. Brick understood and let go without getting upset.
"Would it be nice if you asked me too?" Brick said.
"It's your decision, you can discuss it with your parents," Day replied. Brick said nothing. Soon Day finished cooking along with the cooked rice. Then the two sat down to eat together.
"We've been together for almost 4 years, haven't we?" Brick said.
"Um" Day replied with a throat.
"We spent important days. We were together a lot, including festivals, birthdays, my graduation day, the ordination ceremony, what else is left to do?" Brick asked jokingly without thinking much. Day was silent.
"Funeral," Day pretended to say. This immediately made Brick stop.
"Don't you have something nice to say?" Brick said to the person he loves in a hard voice.
