Short Story : Vampire and Slime[and Manas], Back in Time | Chapter 1

3rd POV

*Clang* [SFX : Swords clashing]

*Boom*

These were the only sounds that were heard around the battlefield.

One one side was Milim, who was fighting Zelanus, with no signs of tiredness on her face. The only expression on her face was pure amusement, it had been a while since she had this much fun fighting.

The opponent was Zelanus, the Insect Lord with the title of God of Creation, an Ultimate level being from another Dimension.

"Hahaha~ You're strong, I'll give you that", announced Milim.

Zelanus on the other hand ignored it, or what seemed to be the case, but in truth, he had been annoyed by what Milim had said. After all, he could only use a fraction of his original power in this World, which was making him difficult to handle Milim. Although, he had not let that annoyance get the best of him, and still held complete control over his emotions in battle.

'After all, its better to resist the anger rather than let it get to me resulting in my death'

"[Drago Nova]!!!" Milim yelled, as a beam of gushed out from a concentration point in front of Milim and hit Zelanus. However, due to his extraordinary strong Exo-skeleton, he received little damage, which was instantly regenerated at that, or well, at least that was what meant to happen, but it didn't.

Spiritual Lifeforms by their racial nature could regenerate wounds as long as their Ego, which was their Conceptual Self, was not destroyed. Even if their core was destroyed, this was merely an alter ego, which they could regenerate or revive as long as their True Spiritual Self, their platonic form, existed in the Otherworld. Even so, they mostly didn't even need to do that, as they could regenerate most damage done to their manifestation in this world, as long as they had the necessary energy.

No.... if the Willpower of these beings was strong enough, they could regenerate even without expending energy. This was the power of Will, of what named Spiritual Lifeforms, that had an ego, specialized in.

Back to the fight, it was likely because of one of the most dangerous properties of the infinitely concentrated mana called Stardust, that whatever hit by it would be deprived of their ability to regenerate, reincarnate, or recover in any way or form. The effect could even reach one's true Spiritual Self if not paid attention against.

But that didn't annoy annoy Zelanus, no, he was not what annoyed Zelanus, no....

Because he knew, he knew that the one with the title of "Destroyer" had not been using her full power as well. Had she done so, he would have been dead long ago.

After all, the [Daughter of God] had that title for a reason.

The actual reason was, that the Cardinal World prevented any being from the outside from entering itself, however, Feldway had been successful in breaching this defensive mechanism by ripping a Space-Time crack inside the Labyrinth. They had found themselves inside the Dimensional Gap between the Floors, the Subspace.

From there, they had invaded into the Cardinal World without passing through the floors themselves, as otherwise they would have been detected and trapped by Ramiris in an Endless Labyrinth, though not like they knew she could do that.

However, when they entered the Cardinal World, the Laws of the World, as per the defensive mechanic set by Veldanava for the World to protect itself, their magicules had been reduced to merely 1/10th of the original amount they had in the Otherworld, their home world. Therefore, the current Zelanus could only use a fraction of his original strength. He couldn't even fully manifest the Ultimate personification of his will, his Ultimate Skill.

It was the same rule that applied to any demons who entered the Cardinal World from Hell, and even the Lord of Darkness was no exception. He may have regained his "Original" full power that he initially had in the Underworld, however, it was a fact that the current Guy could, just barely, use merely 1/10th of the power he could extract in the Underworld.

The only exceptions to this were True Dragons, sharing racial nature with the Creator God himself, they were.... "trusted" by the World System. After all, being the pillars of all of creation itself, they weren't one to cause destruction at mass. However, it was not that they couldn't, but because they didn't like it. After all, even if their current form was human-like and they had adapted human-like tendencies, their true nature, being All-in-One and One-in-All conceptual forms that served as the pillars of creation and its Origin, lower in precedence only to the Great Spirits, they didn't enjoy causing harm to their own body, Creation itself. Although they were nearly not as powerful or similar in nature to the All-Powerful Conceptual God, they could still be identified as Deities given their racial standing alone, to say nothing of their powers.

Speaking of the Lord of Darkness, Guy Crimson could be seen fighting Velzard at another side of the battlefield.

Velzard, who had been controlled by Feldway due to Michael's <<Regalia Dominion>> through her link to it from her Ultimate Skill [[Lord of Patience]].

Well, not like she would have minded it. In fact, if asked to fight Guy, she would have probably done so happily, due to how annoyed of Guy she was recently.

Her very first goal, her initial reason for meeting Guy, in the first place, was to see if he was truly "Worthy". After all, she couldn't just let the fact slide that her brother had set someone as a World Administrator. No.... she was already aware that he was "Worthy", but due to her jealousy that Guy was recognized by Veldanava, she had come to fight him. However, that was the point that someone had amazed her the most.
