Prologue
Mihaela is a powerful shapeshifter who lives in a world filled with other magical creatures. Witches, wizards, dragons, and many more things she has yet to see, learn about, or even experience.
Her life has always been dictated. From her duties to her people, what she could wear, and even how far she could go. But, one day, Mihaela feels a change in her powers and escapes. Leaving behind the walls that confined her for so long, she runs from the small world that held her for decades and she slips away from the person who had the leash around her neck so tight. She hopes fleeing from her rigid routine will reveal what's changing within her--and maybe offer a taste of freedom, too.
Venturing into the unknown, Mihaela encounters someone who alters her life forever. Someone who changes the ever-expanding world around her in ways she may or may not approve of yet.
Mihaela takes something from this new acquaintance, and they become intertwined in more ways than one. Along their course, they discover the world around them is also changing, but something about this new world is different... wrong.
Will Mihaela be able to discover more about the unknown world that is changing within and around her? Will she be able to find out what is happening to its inhabitants? Will she discover her truth, more about her powers, or possibly discover that missing lineage she has always been curious about? Or will the distractions of this new world draw her attention from the truth?
