It wasn't a day the trolls looked forward to. It was the day they hated the most, the day they would their friends, family, and loved ones.

Today was Trollstice.

But no one was getting eaten today. For the past year, the king had instructed the trolls to make tunnels away from Bergen Town. There, they would find a new life, free from captivity.

Most of them anyway.

" I got Princess Poppy!" A troll said before handing the baby to another troll, who then handed her another troll and then to the princess' father.

" My beautiful Poppy." The king said." We're just a few moments from being free."

" Dada!" The baby giggled.

" Somebody help me!" A troll shouted. Then, a blonde-haired troll ran towards the king.

" Don't worry, dad, I got her." The blonde troll said.

" Thanks, Viva." The king replied." I'm coming!"

The king ran to the shouting troll's voice while Viva put her sister into her hair and tried to keep up with the other trolls. As she ran, he heard a muffled voice from one of the holes the bergens dug:

" Your majesty, we will find the trolls!"

It sounded like the chef who would cook the trolls on Trollstice. It gave her a feeling in her stomach. But she couldn't be afraid. She had to be brave, for her sister and the other trolls, she was going to be queen after all.

. . . .

It had been two years since Branch's brother left him, one year since his grandmother was eaten, and three months since one of his brothers came back. But it was the wrong brother. Now he was with said brother running for his life.

" Branch, come on!" The brother yelled.

" I'm coming!" Branch shouted back." We don't all have pencil legs, you know!"

Clay gasped dramatically." Branch!" How could he say such a thing?! But there were more important things to worry about, because as he stopped to turn at his brother , his ex-girlfriend ran up beside him.

" Clay!?" She shouted.

" Viva!" Clay replied awkwardly." What's up?"

" Well, we're escaping the bergens and certain death, but other than that, I'm doing, greeeat." Viva said with a note of sarcasm." How bout you?"

" Oh well, remember my little brother Branch, he's right here, say hi to the princess Branch!" Clay said.

" Hi, Princess Viva." The little grey troll mumbled. He wasn't good with other trolls. His classmates at school would often ostracize him for his grey color. So he kept to himself, and that made him even more of a target.

" Hello, Branch." Viva said." Now come! We gotta g-" Then a thud hit the ground. It was a bergen's shovel.

" I found some!" Yelled the bergen attached to the shovel. He grabbed the trolls he saw, thrust them into the daylight, and brought them to the chef.

" Ah, the princess." The bergen grinned evilly."How wonderful. Put them in the cage!"

The trolls were thrown into a giant metal cage and left there to meet their fate.

. . . .

The king had found the troll the voice had belonged to. He had dark green hair and orange goggles on his head. His leg was broken badly .The king had recognized him.

" John Dory?" He asked as he lifted the troll's arm over his shoulder and helped him walk.

" Hey King Peppy, what's happening?" He asked.
