He gave up trying to find Seunghoon halfway through. Why? Well, he didn't want the younger to bring up a conversation he was necessarily trying to avoid. So he did what he thought fitted the time right. Walking out of the school gates, Yoojae walked down the street to the coffee shop that was pretty popular amongst the students. Not like he particularly liked to have caffeine in his body but he wanted to study a bit there before going back to the shared apartment.
As he entered the cafe, Yoojae immediately knew why it was popular among students. It was cozy, and the smell of freshly brewed coffee was addicting even to a person who disliked coffee. It was dimly lit and the table at the farthest corner was dimly lit with fairy lights. The ornamental plants by the window set a great vibe to the cozy atmosphere.
Yoojae went up to the counter to order a matcha tea for himself since he preferred to not drink coffee. A girl, who seemed like a part timer and not much older than him, walked up to the cash register.
"Your order sir?" Her deep voice caught him by surprise. Looking at her, he concluded that she was probably a tomboy. Her shoulder length hair put up in a half ponytail and the lip piercing made her seem intimidating.
"Matcha tea for one. Thanks."
He observed the mentioned girl type on the cash register. Yoojae didn't notice he was staring until the girl handed him his bill. Turning around to head to his table, he could feel someone drilling holes into skull, but he shrugged it off not giving it much thoughts. Yoojae sat down by the table he had in his mind since earlier, took out his books and was about to start reading until a tray was slammed on his table.
Flinching he looked up. He thanked the waiter for delivering the coffee hoping that she will leave him alone and tend to other customers, not like there were much at this hour.
"Uh, thanks" Yoojae passed an awkward smile and received the coffee.
He tried to shrug off the death glares from the waiter. He looked up only to get glared at. Sighing he kept his matcha tea on the table to confront the waiter about her behaviour.
"Mister, I'd very much appreciate if you stopped staring at my girl over there" the waiter said with a sickeningly sweet smile.
Yoojae was confused even more at this point, "Huh? What...are you actually talking about?"
"The one who took your order is not yours to stare, so kindly keep your gaze off of her, mister" the girl turned around and walked settling behind the counter to serve the customers.
"Did she mistake me for flirting with that cashier?" He mumbled to himself while sipping on his drink.
Fishing out his phone from his pocket, he opened his kakaotalk to send a message to his best friend. To his dismay the texts were seen by Sunghoon but he didn't text him back. Sighing he put his phone back in his pocket and started looking through the stuff he needed to learn for the upcoming midterms.
Yoojae was very much unaware of how fast the time passed because he was preparing for the midterms. It was his mum's call that he realised it was already eight in the evening.
Packing up his belongings he headed out of the cafe to walk back to his shared dorm with Sunghoon. The night wasn't too cold. It was okay he would say since he gets cold easily.

The beeping of the door echoed in the silent hallway as he unlocked the door to his shared dorm. Stepping out of his sports shoe he put on his slippers and neatly put the shoes on the shoe rack. Well, Yoojae likes to be organized unlike a certain someone.
Walking through the dorm he found it too quiet for his liking. On checking the yyounger's room, Yoojae definitely did not find Sunghoon's absence pleasing. He walked to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee while the younger's absence kept bugging him.
Yoojae was about to open the fridge to get some milk when he found a sticky note. He took off the fridge magnet to read the sticky note.
"I am going for a drink with my friends. Don't wait for me... Good night"
Sighing he crumpled the note and the piece of paper found itself in the dustbin. Well, though the younger asked him not to wait, he decided he will. They need to talk. Sunghoon needs to know that the hookup that day was a one time thing and that should not change their friendship or create a rift between them.
Sunghoon can't keep ignoring him. He won't make the mistake of hooking up with Sunghoon ever again. Well, it wasn't really a mistake for Yoojae. It was a mistake according to him because it might cause a emotional rift in their friendship.
Yoojae is well aware about his feelings towards Sunghoon and the younger's feelings towards him. That kiss during their high school graduation party was what made them realise their feelings but oh well... They are scared. They don't voice it out but well... They are.
