Ishita

Ishita woke up the next morning in a not-so-good mood. That was partly because she just wasn't a morning person, and the other reason was that they were visiting her that day.

By 'they', she meant the Rajputs. Which included Rajveer Singh Rajput, the person she was supposed to marry. Even though their family was visiting hers to seek approval from both her and Rajveer, she knew that she didn't really have a choice. This marriage would happen whether she consented or not. Her mouth went dry at that thought, or maybe it was because she had just woken up. Whatever it may be, she decided to finally get out of bed.

About half an hour later, after brushing her teeth and taking a bath, she found herself sitting in front of the large mirror in her room. Her mother had gotten her an anarkali suit specially stitched for the occasion. It was a royal blue coloured suit, with golden borders and embroidery. Ishita had to admit, it looked extremely pretty, and complimented her brown skin well. Just as she finished putting it on, there was a knock on the door of the room.

"You may come in, it's open" Ishita called out, already knowing who was on the other side.

Siya pushed the door open, peeking her head inside before fully stepping in. She smiled when she saw Ishita. "Good morning. I have to say, you look beautiful"

Ishita laughed "Why, thank you. You flatter me"

"Here, let me do you hair" Siya said, stepping closer to Ishita. She brushed Ishita's shoulder length hair, leaving them open, only adding a few golden accessories to them.

"Your mother asked me to give you this" Siya said, bringing out a small red box. Ishita took it from her and opened it to reveal a beautiful gold necklace with small diamonds embedded along it.  Siya gently put the necklace around Ishita's neck, carefully tying it in place. She spent a few more minutes dressing Ishita up, adding some light makeup to complete her look.

"Careful, people might faint when they see you" Siya smiled at Ishita, looking at her through the mirror.

"Oh, shut up" Ishita rolled her eyes, before gasping suddenly "What are you wearing?!"

Siya blinked in confusion "It's a kurti. I wear a kurti everyday"

"I know that, duh. But you can't be wearing that! It's too plain. My best friends needs to be all dressed up and pretty too" Ishita said, getting up and walking to her large closet. She shuffled through it for a few seconds, before taking out a really pretty yet simple pastel pink coloured suit with chikankari embroidery on it. She held it up to Siya's shoulder and smiled "This will fit you perfectly"

"I-I can't wear that" Siya said, stepping back.

"Why not?" Ishita raised an eyebrow at her "Come on, I rarely ever get to see you all dressed up. And this is a perfect occasion. Don't you want the Rajputs to have a good opinion of you?"

"I don't matter. They are here to see you" Siya said.

"Oh, please. You're my best friend, you matter a damn lot" Ishita said.

"But-" Siya tried to argue, but got interrupted by Ishita.

"Shut up and put this on. Let me do your hair. Oh, I've been waiting to dress you up for so long!" Ishita clapped her hands excitedly.

The minutes ticked by painfully slow. The Rajputs were to arrive at exactly eleven, and Ishita couldn't help but pace up and down in her room, glancing at the clock every few seconds. When it was finally eleven, she felt her heart racing. She didn't know why she was so nervous when heck, she didn't even want to get married.
