[His eyes twinkled when he asked me to come with him, so how could I ever refuse? His whole vibe always gives golden retriever and that always cheers me up. I smiled as I grabbed his hand, my thumb stroking his hand softly. His small hand was almost completely covered by mine, as my fingers were quite long. I thought it was cute.]
I woke up to someone standing over me. At first my vision was a bit blurry, so I couldn't see who it was.
"Get up, before they send us away! They're gonna notice", the voice said.
Then I recognized the face, it was Ty. I was still dizzy, but honestly I didn't feel that bad, so I stood up. Ty and I helped Ten get up as well, he didn't even seem to remember that I knocked him over. I laughed at him and then we went to one of the food trucks that was standing on the side. I bought them both hotteok. We were about to sit on the ground, when we saw the empty bench. The three of us barely fit, but we didn't care at all. We were just hungry.{Time skip, a week later}
I met Ten in front of the supermarket and we walked to his company's practice together. In a week we had a collab stage, and we still had to practice a lot. We're pretty sweet and kind of shy (most times) in person, but on stage we like to have a more dark theme. The choreography we were doing was hard, but I strongly believed that we would do well if we just practiced some more. It's safe to say he's a better dancer than me, so I had to put in some extra effort. After all, I didn't want him to hold himself back, just because I couldn't do it. We had never performed on stage together, so I wanted our first impression to be good and intense.
"Let's mark it once from the top, then go over the details of the first part and practice all of it full out".It was late, but although I had to get up early the next day, I had no desire to go home. I had to get this dance down. Well I knew the choreography, but my execution needed work. Ten had gone home three hours ago already, but when I dance, I don't notice the hours going by so quickly. I practiced and practiced and practiced. Most people don't know about all the hours I put into my performances, but hard work clearly pays off. I was in the middle of my routine, when my hand slipped and I fell face first onto the floor. I stood up and acted like nothing happened, but there was no one else in the room anyways. I decided to take a quick break and get something to drink from the company's cafeteria. I picked up my sweater and my bag and walked out the door, not forgetting to turn the lights off in the studio. When I arrived at the cafeteria, it was basically empty. I grabbed a drink and sat down at a table by the window. I put my earbuds in and decided to listen to some music. I know I shouldn't have the volume turned all the way up, because it's bad for my hearing, but it just sounds so much better. Because of my music (and maybe my closed eyes), I had no sense of time.
After a while I finally managed to grab all the energy I had left to go back to the practice room and so I did. The lights were on when I got there and I could hear music blasting through the speakers. I hestitated to go in, but Ten's company clearly gave me permission to practice there at any time, because we're good friends and my own company doesn't have too much space. I walked in with my chin up, in an attempt to look and feel more confident. There he was. It was as if all the light in the room was collected around him. He was pretty much a god in my eyes. I didn't know the shining man from the week before was in the same company as Ten? Even though I was at least 10 cm taller than him, he looked so intimidating. It felt as if I shouldn't be there practicing, when he was already there. I waited till he was finished with dancing to enter the room, while standing in the doorway.
I apologized to him as I clumsily walked to the other side of the room to get my water bottle and said something like: "I'll be on my way out".
I dont remember clearly, because I was too stunned by this mans appearance. His black clothes looked super dark next to the sparkles of light that seemed to come off his body.
To my surprise he turned towards me with a smile and a kind voice said: "No need to go away, I can turn the volume down".
The lump in my throat faded a bit, relieved that he didn't sound upset or mad. I don't know where I got the courage, but I told him I saw him at the festival a week ago and that I was stunned by his way of performing. That's when we started chatting. He invited me to come join him at the little lounge in the practice room and we talked about a lot. Turns out we're actually pretty similar?
"I should get going", he said "the sun is already coming up".
I didn't know how long we had been chatting there, but the fact that the sun was rising, was enough for me to tell that it had been a while. He gave me his KakaoTalk and then we splitted ways. I rushed home to try and get as much sleep as much as possible before my schedule, but it feels like I only laid down for like five minutes when my alarm woke me up.
