On 6/21, when shit went down hill . It was as if the ominous air was charged with impending disaster. Jabari's inclination for confrontation wasn't new, but there was an unmistakable intensity about this particular day.As expected, nobody suspected it, but our delinquent Jabari harbored feelings for someone, and that someone happened to be David. Surprisingly, Jabari did have a somewhat soft spot for David, though he would never confess to it openly."David is so lame, he thinks playing sports and being friends with Sedric is gonna save him," remarked a random kid. "I know, right? What a weirdo," chimed in another. Unbeknownst to them, Jabari overheard. He walked up to them, trying to appear calm, and asked, "What did you say?" "What, that David's a pissant?" the kid said without looking up. "Oh really? And you're not?" Jabari questioned. The kid looked up in fear as he suddenly realized who he was talking to. "Wa-" but before he could say anything, Jabari punched him in the face, slamming him into the lockers. The brutal beating continued until the police had to intervene, prying them apart. By now, a crowd had gathered, and standing in front were David and Da'Lon, both looking confused and shocked.David and Jabari exchanged glances, and in that moment, Jabari mouthed the words "I love you" to David, a silent confession amidst the chaos of the scene.
