yeji leaned back on the headboard, patiently waiting for her dear wife, ryujin to come back home. she checked the time, 11pm. maybe there's something going on in the office. she shrugged it off.
it wasn't the first time ryujin was coming home late, but she didn't care, she knew her wife would never do anything behind her back. right?
yeji's eyes were getting heavier, her head feeling like it was being pulled down by weights as she tried to stay awake. as she was about to call it a night, decided to just greet her wife in the morning, the sound of the bedroom door opening jolted her awake.
"jinjin!" yeji smiled, it was as if she was wide awake. yeji's smile was bright, wide as she stared at her wife. ryujin gave a slight smile, nodding as she set her briefcase on the desk in the room.
"hi." ryujin's deep voice was heard as she sat on the bed beside her wife. yeji wrapped her arms around the taller girl, pecking her cheek softly. ryujin stayed silent.
"so how's your-" "i need to shower." yeji bit her bottom lip as she nodded while ryujin stood up from the bed, taking her phone before exiting the room.
yeji stayed on the bed, fiddling with her fingers as she tried to defend the illusion of her wife she had in her mind. she smiled to herself, shaking her head as she thought about here silly she was. maybe she had a bad day of work. she said to herself as she tucked herself into bed.
her eyes blinking slowly, finally closing after a few seconds.
her eyes opened again, the lights now off but the sound of soft giggling was heard beside her. opening herself eyes a little, she saw ryujin on her phone, looking like she was texting someone. yeji gulped. maybe nothing... yeji convinced herself, falling back asleep without letting the other woman know that she was awake.
the following night, yeji was up yet again at 11pm. she waited patiently like before, checking the time now and then. soon it was about 1am and the raven haired was still not home. yeji had gotten worried at this point, fighting the urge to call her and check up on her. eventually, she gave in. dialling her wife's number as it rung.
"hello?"
"hi, ryu. where are you? it's getting late, i'm worried about you-" "i told you not to call me while i'm at work." "but-" *call ends* oh.
yeji sighed. she's right, she told me not to call her when she's at work... it's my fault. she laughed to herself. tucking herself into bed once again as she soon fell asleep.
the next morning, she expected to have ryujin beside her, but there was no one. the bed felt cold, and the spot beside her seemed untouched from the previous night. she checked the time, 7am. ryujin wouldn't even be at work by now, her work starts at 8am.
yeji stood up from the bed, rubbing her eyes groggily as she stepped out of the bedroom. the house was empty, and it was as if ryujin didn't come home the night before... yeji tried to make herself feel better. maybe she really did just go to work earlier... maybe.
for the next few days, yeji had caught onto some of ryujin's new "habits" she was on her phone more often, she was barely coming home and she was acting colder and more distant. yeji had her thoughts to herself for about a week before she finally decided to vent it all out on her best friend, Giselle.
"no fucking way." the younger girl said. yeji looked down at the table as she sipped on her coffee. "girl. are you not suspicious of her?" yeji shrugged, shaking her head. "i know my wife. we've been married for 5 years, there's no way she'll ever cheat on me." the older girl said, only getting a side eye from her friend as a response.
