Felix wasn't mistaken. The endearing alpha was indeed his fiancé.

It was just a formal meeting before their engagement party or whatever that Felix wasn't so interested about. Felix met Mr. and Mrs. Hwang, who seemed lovely enough. He just hope they won't give Felix a hard time as words have it, they could be horrible at times. And well, he also met Hyunjin, his soon to be husband and mate.

If the omega wasn't so interested before, now he had a change of heart. The alpha was just so fucking sexy to him for a reason he couldn't understand. His timid and awkward expressions while somehow still managing to look intimidating (and so fucking hot,) were what got Felix the most. It's as if he also didn't know how to face the situation just like the omega, and yet he spoke so clearly and confidently, a perfect contrast to his demeanor.

It was fascinating to see, and Felix would be lying if he said it wasn't kind of comical. It made him wonder what more was there for him to discover in his soon-to-be mate.

They were to live together in Hyunjin's condo until the wedding while their house was under construction (yes, crazy) then they would move there to start a family. Felix still hated that these people already had his fate planned like he's some puppet on a string. It made him want to struggle for his freedom even more. Although, soon after their meeting, the kids (which was the two of them,) were ushered to go to the back gardens to have their time alone, and Felix was more than happy to escape the wrinkly claws of those old people, he was out of their way in no time.

“You know I love going out,” The omega started, eyes out in the open nothing. The statement didn't come out of nowhere. He thought he should just tell Hyunjin now… as a warning? In the name of being honest? He's not sure. Whether Hyunjin would run away, or pretend to be able to handle that was the main reason. “I love hanging out with my friends and hopping from one club to another to meet people and share some heat with them. I love getting booze and I love the attention when I'm on the dance floor,” Felix turned to the other male who was already staring at him with something peeking in his eyes. “To make it simple, I'm a little too wild,” He put it bluntly, staring back. “Do you think you can handle me?”

In his head, Felix didn't believe that this dude could. Even the most outgoing alphas he had dated before couldn't handle the way that Felix lived his life. He respected boundaries but he tended to break out of them once he started to feel suffocated, which was why his relationships wouldn't last for longer than two months. It was all fun from the beginning then it would suddenly crumble down just as fast as it started.

He just couldn't change his ways. He couldn't change who he was and how he wanted to live his life. He's just too young to be serious at anything. And as much as he would love to go home to his house with someone waiting for him to lay in their arms, Felix just couldn't change the way he was. He's not reverting back to being the omega he used to be, who didn't have his own sense of judgment, and who didn't own a decision. He refused.

He's been restricted in doing a lot of things in his childhood until his late teenage years, and he fought so hard to earn himself that he now have to just suddenly give it up because someone couldn't keep up with him.

“Are you going to cheat on me?” Hyunjin asked, visibly holding his breath.

This reaction emitted a chuckle from the omega, finding it amusing. He turned his head back to the fountain, watching as the water kept on falling and falling in an endless loop.

“That, I will never do, Hyunjinnie. I'm incapable of that amount of disrespect. However, I can't promise you that I will be a good omega who only knows how to wait for you at home. I'm so done with that kind of life. I don't want to live for other people ever again.”

“I understand,” Felix's head turned towards Hyunjin so fast, he could almost hear his neck cracking. “I wouldn't wish for you to change anything just for me anyway. I'd love it if you try to enjoy your life however you want to.”

“Won't you try to change me?” The question came out too surprised, it's almost embarrassing.

That's bullshit, right?

“No, I won't,” Hyunjin let out soft laughter, and it sounded so nice, Felix almost wished he could drown in them. “How you want to live your life is not for me to decide about, nor anyone else's, Felix.”

There was silence in between them for a few seconds. The fascination and amusement that Felix initially felt for the alpha grew a huge amount just by hearing his words and the weight of sincerity in every syllable that fell from his lips.

He'd never met such a person before.

“Are you polyamorous?” Felix asked, his chest hammering loudly.

“Polya– oh, no, I'm not,” The alpha's face turned a bit red, “I just want to respect what you want. I know you're already having a hard time dealing with this marriage, and I don't want you to feel imprisoned by this marriage.”

Felix let out a breath, relieved. He might be wild and all, but he could never do poly. Just maintaining a relationship with one person was already max level difficult for him, what more having a harem?

“Interesting,” he said, “Then would you be fine if I continued with my ways?”

The omega could see hesitation in the way that the other male fidgeted but he was even more surprised when he spoke his mind. “To be honest, I don't like to think about you sharing your body heat with someone else, no matter if it's not in a sexual way. I don't think I would want that at all,” the other said with all honesty, which amused Felix just as much. “But as I said, it is completely your choice and I want to respect your wishes.”

That's a really interesting way to put it.

So he's an alpha after all. He's so gentle, soft-spoken and neat that Felix almost forgot he's also an alpha with possessive instincts and natural selfishness.

Thinking about it, this marriage might not be that bad after all.
