He sneered at her, ignoring the fact that she looked tired, dehydrated and weak. Suddenly he pulled her up to her feet and steadied her.

"T-thank.. you.." She gasped, her mouth stone dry and her throat twice as dry. He shrugged it off as though it was a chore. He turned away, about to walk away when a light object tapped his shoulder. He spun on the spot, glaring at the girls hand on his shoulder and smacking it away.

"Don't touch me. Why would I help someone like you? Outsider." He sneered once again, her eyes closed slightly, she struggled to open them to the full extent.

"Then.. go, wh -why tease me.. with your... 'help'?" She questioned, swallowing a lump in her throat.

"Because I have manners.." He walked away, dust at his heels.

"Not.. many.." She limped over to the shade, the hot stars nearing on the deep red planet. They burnt many villagers eyes, that's why most of the planet's civilisation was blind. Her legs were covered in bruises and rashes as well as a few deep cuts. Her loose top and skirt that had the mark of an outsider on weren't enough to hide her from the suns heat, animals jaws and peoples wrath. She felt the ground moving slightly, a panicked feeling crossing her mind,  as much agony it put her through, she sprinted to a cave around 450 metres away, causing her leg to hurt immensely. She found a small lake in the cavern, so she washed her cuts then sipped at it, her throat feeling rejuvenated with every sip. Eventually, the ground movement stopped and she emerged from the cave to find it was now night, a dangerous time to be out. There had been many stories of people going insane at the sight of the purple moon that came everyday at nightfall then buggered off when the clock hits 20:00. She had never believed in these sorts of things, but this one was different. Everytime someone went out at this time, she'd never seen them again. She looked around, the cavern no longer a safe spot, she had used all the water for bathing so there was traces of her there and she needed to move.

She felt in her mind the bell go for her sanity to be gone as the purple horizon entered her view, making her place a bloody hand over her eyes so she couldn't see the moon rising into the air. But it was too late, her pale blue eyes were now black. It wasn't a legend, it was a fact. You went insane, it hurt her head, her mind was filled with pictures of this horizon and many other things she knew nothing about before but now knew everything. A while passed and her eyes returned to their normal shade of blue, the only difference in her that was noticeable was her cuts and bruises. Every single one of them had been healed.

After a day, the boy she had met previously returned up the hill, greeting her with the sneer, she was leaning against a wall with many carvings on, he suddenly grew suspicious.

"What is that?" He asked bluntly, pointing to the carvings on the wall.

"Just a few pictures I drew." She smiled, the smile then turning to a grin as flames shot out of palm at an exceeding rate, she was next to him within a second as well. Forcefully, she placed her palms on his mind, not only burning him but inserting all the memories she now had that weren't hers, the horizon filled his mind and the same thing happened to him as it had her. Screaming in pain for a while, he then got up, the burns on his face now healed. He looks over to her, her grin now disappeared as both their sanities return, but both know what has just happened. Neither can go home, they'd be kicked out in seconds.

As much as they dislike each other, they nod , gripping each others hand in support and walking towards the mountainous area known as Death Valley. For one reason, no one ever leaves that place alive, it's where the insane go when they have no where
