I hope you enjoy this story. :)

------------------

I slowly walked towards the campus' coffee shop, the cold winter air nipping at my revealed legs.

As I entered, a small bell chimed and I was engulfed by the warmth inside. I quickly ordered my coffee and took a seat at a small table, sipping my drink. The brown liquid burnt my tongue, but I didn't mind.

I wrapped my frail hands around the hot mug in an attempt to heat them up from the bitter weather outside. After about three minutes of staring out onto the campus, I reached into my small bag and began to read. I loved to read.

There are some people that read too much, like myself. I know some who are constantly drunk on books, as other people are constantly drunk on whiskey . Both types wander through this most diverting and stimulating of worlds in a haze, seeing nothing and hearing nothing. Reading is the best way to block the world out, when you just want peace. It's a good way to escape from reality.

After reading for about ten minutes, I heard the coffee shop door chimed. I slowly turned my head, curios to see who made an entrance. It was a boy. A boy around my age, with a bulky yet quite lanky figure. As he approached the counter, the girl behind it immediately stood up, taking his order.

"Black coffee" mutterednthe boy, running a hand through his messy brown curls. He had very long and slender fingers. I could imagine them running along my thigh, under my skirt and causing goosebumps to appear on my fair skin.

I shuddered at the thought and quickly drank my coffee. It had gone cold by now and it was quite an unpleasant feeling . The freezing liquid slid down my throat. But I brushed the sensation off.

As I stood up to leave, I could feel someone's eyes watching me. I turned around and saw the curly haired boy staring at me, his green eyes burning into mine. I felt myself become embarrassed and stepped outside the Coffee shop, out of the warmth and into the cold winter weather.

Just in time, I thought. As I stepped inside of the college one minute before the bell rang. After my encounter In the coffee shop, I was running a bit late but I thankfully arrived right on cue.
I opened my schedule to see that I had a lecture first, I groaned knowing that the lecture would just be telling us all about the college considering it was the first day.

As I stepped into the lecture, I seen that everyone was already seated. I scanned the room seeing if I could see anyone I knew, my friend Sarah was not in the same classes as me, and I am quite an antisocial person, so to meet new people and make friends in my new classes will be hard.

Looking around the room I could see all the typical people you find at a college. I couldn't really see anyone that I would fit in with and everyone seemed to be distracted by each-other so I headed towards the middle of the room and decided to take a seat on my own.
As I walked up the stairs, my eyes landed on the curly haired boy from the coffee shop. He didn't notice me, but then again, who would take any notice of me?

I took a seat and nervously twiddled my fingers, our teacher seemed to be late so everyone took this as an opportunity to speak even louder than they were before. I didn't have anyone to talk to so I took out my book and began reading.

After a few minutes I heard a bag being dropped on the floor next to me, I anxiously looked up to see a girl with blue eyes and blonde hair sit next to me.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" The girl asked. I just shook my head and she smiled. "My names Lauren, you?" She seemed very friendly and really nice, but she was extremely pretty and looked pretty cool so she would probably start hanging out with all the popular people soon.
"I-I'm Faye" I replied nervously, giving her a small smile. The least I could do is try to make at least one friend in my new classes. "You have a nice name" she said smiling and I just smiled back awkwardly. "So, what lesson are you in next?" She said laughing, I chuckled slightly. She seemed really nice and laid back, she was talking to me like she had knew me for a while.
"Um, English literature" I responded, fortunately I didn't stutter.

Before Lauren could reply, our teacher sauntered in,holding his head high. Let's hope this year turns out to be half decent.

A/n: I'm really sorry for the awkward ending, I didn't know how to finish this chapter and I didn't want it to be too short! I have really high hopes for this book and I am really excited to be writing this. This is my first story here on Wattpad, so it may not be to my best standard, but I hope you guys enjoy either way! Also I'm sorry for rambling in this chapter, after the coffee shop scene I had no idea what to write lol.
Love
