"You ready, Ace?" The young ten year old hears, her father.

"Yes father!" 'Ace' says, smiling as she examines the pistol she had been handed earlier.

She fiddles with the gun, taking the safety off of it. She puts gel on her short, green hair, making sure it stayed back.

Melanie, or 'Ace' as her father calls her, was her fathers apprentice. She never wanted to disappoint him so she took on the role, she engaged in the murder of the second Robin, more as witness than murderer. She would do anything to make him proud of her, which is exactly what she was doing now. Her father wanted her to rob a bank with him and her mother, so that's what they're doing.

As a child she made sure to look the part too, she was presumed crazier than him so she put on the act to look like him too. The chemicals her father and mother had been in had reacted with her at birth, meaning when she needed herself to she could turn the 'craziness' on and off. Hence why her hair was currently green, it's not always. Most of the time it appears in a nice blonde.

Despite being somewhat sane, her father made her worse. She would feel herself slipping day after day, night after night. It was an endless tunnel she could never reach. Her father wanted her to be just like him, for now she was going by as a mere assassin for him.

Her father trained her, taught her everything she knew, but it wasn't enough for him. She needed to be better than Batman, so she could kill him alongside her father. Her father made her go through training with Ra's Al Ghul, Deadshot, Scarecrow, Victor Zsasz and many other criminals her father or mother had ever allied themselves with.

The chances were, if she trained hard enough she would be able to fight Batman successfully by the time she was eighteen.

She had to make her father proud.

"Father! Do we have any more bullets?" She calls, her fathers head henchmen came up.

"Here you go, Ace." He Said, handing her a box of bullets. She picked out the smaller ones, just as she'd learnt from Deadshot, they aim better.

"Thanks, are we ready to go now?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, we are. We've just finished packing the Bombs in the van." He said, following her down as she leaves.

"We're taking the van?" Melanie asks, "not the purple Lamborghini?" The man nods at her in response, she groans but continues her trip downstairs.

"Ace! It's so nice to see you ready." Her father said, wrapping an arm around her. She smiles slightly, but stiffens at the cold touch of his hands.

Melanie looks at him, realising they are both wearing similar clothing. He's in a purple and green suit, she's in black trousers, a green long sleeved collared shirt with a purple sweater vest over it.

She makes her way to the van with her father. She finds her mother already in there waiting for them.

"Good Mornin puddin!" She smiles at Melanie.

"Good morning mother." She smiles back, sitting on the backseat of the car.

She begins to fiddled methodically with the trigger of her gun again, causing a light chuckle from her father.

For the majority of the car ride she sat playing with her gun, loading in the bullets she had been given previously.

Her attention snaps back into action when she notices a throwing knife being handed to her, it has the Ace of spades logo on the blade and it was green and purple.
