A few hours prior
It was 8.00 o'clock in the morning. The birds were chirping loudly as Alya attempted to read her book. "Come on Alya, we're going to be late," Sophia called. Alya jokingly rolled her eyes at her mom. Sophia had a way of freaking out even if they were an hour early.
"Mom, we have time," Alya said with a smile.
"But we can't risk it," Sophia said, handing Alya her suitcase. Alya grabbed it quickly, stuffing her book in her backpack.
"Where are we even going?" Alya asked as Sophia was running around frantically.
"I don't know, but any place is better than here,"
"Mom is going on? You haven't explained why we're leaving. You literally told me like yesterday I have no time to say goodbye to anyone," Alya said rather sadly. Sophia put her suitcase down for just a moment,
"I know it's sudden but trust me it will all be better soon," Sophia said gently, placing her hand on Alya's face. Alya nodded, face emotionless,
"Okay now we have to go," Sophia said, grabbing her suitcase and Alya's arm. Alya grabbed her suitcase before Sophia dragged her out without it. Sophia was going crazy practically running through the airport.Current Time
Sophia could hear a distant ringing noise
"What happened?" Sophia said quietly, still out of it. Her head was pounding and her arms felt like someone had stabbed her a million times over. Her head was worse than her arms which she did not think was possible. Suddenly she shot up realizing her daughter was not right next to her.
"Alya!!!" Sophia said, jumping up ignoring the immense pain she was in.
Alya was less beat up than Sophia, the worst injury she had was a small cut across her mouth.
"Mom, are you okay?!?" Alya screamed nervously.
"Yeah I'm fine," Sophia said weakly, suddenly passing out.
"MOM!?" Alya screamed.
"Someone help please!!" Alya screamed but everyone ignored her, they were too busy freaking out.
"How can I help?" A man's voice called from a bit aways. Alya looked quickly to see a man rushing towards her. He looked to be around twenty years old with a grungy style accompanied with blonde hair."My mom! She passed out!" Alya said a bit freaked out.
"It's okay I got this," the man said confidently. He had a confidence but kindness about him. The man tried supporting Sophia and shaking her to wake her up. Alya was about to say how it was not working when suddenly Sophia woke up.
"Oh my gosh mom you're awake!!!" Alya said, hugging Sophia.
"I knew it would work!" Charlie said. Though Charlie knew very well he had no clue what he was doing. Alya laughed at him gently.
"Thank you for your help..."
"Charlie, Charlie Pace," Charlie said offering her his hand.
Alya smiled,
"I'm Alya, Alya Thorn and this is my mom Sophia,". Sophia just gave him a look,
"Enough introductions where are we?" Sophia asked.
"Mom..."
"That's a good question I was wondering the same thing,"Few hours prior
After running for what felt like forever Alya and Sophia finally got to their gate.
"Mom see I told you we still have 2 hours," Alya said. But Sophia was not listening, she was looking frantically around. She grabbed Alya's arm yet again and dragged her to a place where very few people could see them.
"Mom, what is going on?"
"Nothing love, it's just time to start over. We've never moved and you're growing up," Sophia said. But Alya knew she was lying, her hands were shaking and her breath was uneven. Alya also noticed that Sophia's lip was part way purple from her constantly biting it.
"Mom.." Alya started but before she could finish they were interrupted. A man around Sophia's age walked up to them. He looked like a lumberjack with his flannel shirt and below ear length hair. None of that mattered to Sophia, the only thing she noticed that was that he looked like trouble. Sophia immediately tried to walk away but before she could the man sat next to her giving her an evil smile.
"Do you mind?" Sophia said.
"As matter of a fact I do," the man said with a smile. Sophia shook her head ready to get up,
"I wouldn't do that if I were you sweetheart, all the other hidden seats are flooded with people,"
"Who the heck do you think you are? And I am not sweetheart to you," Sophia said. The man did not answer, he just gave a satisfied smile and grabbed his book, ignoring Sophia. Sophia sighed laying back in her seat clearly annoyed.Current Time
Sophia got up immediately, Alya having to support her.
"Do you need help mate? You don't look good," Charlie said."I'm fine," Sophia said in a rather angry tone."We're fine thank you," Alya said, trying to fix her mother's tone. As Alya and Sophia were walking down the beach a man approached them.
"Mrs. You seem injured, can I take a look at it?" A man asked. He had a short haircut, dark hair, and darkish eyes. Alya did not know why but the look and even his voice drove her up a wall.
"I'm fine," Sophia said.
"No you aren't Mrs, you can barely stand and you have blood streaming down your face and arm," The man said."Mom, you should let him look at you," Alya said with a bit of disdain.
"Ugh fine," Sophia said. The man and Alya lowered Sophia to the ground so the man could look at her.
"What's are your names?" The man asked.
"Sophia and Alya Thorn," Alya said trying to not be annoyed."I'm Jack," Jack said.
After what felt like a lifetime Jack fixed Sophia up to the best of what he had. She could still barely walk but it was better.
Many hours had gone by and everyone was still frantic. Things had at least gotten a bit better. People were gathering around the beach not really sure what to do. Sophia and Alya sat together with Charlie joining them. Alya and Charlie talked the entire time which drove Sophia insane. She did not want her daughter socializing with anyone but especially Charlie.Sophia had at the point zoned out, looking around the beach. She was not really paying attention when she suddenly saw a young brother and sister. Sophia could not stop staring at them, her eyes getting big. There was something so similar about the boy. Like she almost knew him, thoughts rolling like a frate train. Sophia was deep in thought when suddenly she heard a familiar voice.
"Hello there Firework,"."You've got to be kidding me," Sophia said.
"I had hoped you didn't survive the crash," Sophia said with a sly smile.
"Ooh aggressive are we?"
"Oh shut up, don't you have more deserving people to annoy the heck out of?" Sophia asked.
"Maybe but you're more fun to look at,"
"You disgust me," Sophia said.
"Leave the lady alone," Charlie said. Alya smiled at her new friend.
"Oooh, you want to come at me-" Sawyer started to say something, but they were cut off by Jack.
"Sophia, are you feeling any better?"
"Besides wanting to black out every two seconds, yeah," Sophia said sarcastically. Sawyer smiled at her,
"This is my kind of girl,"
"Do you ever shut up??" Sophia asked."
"Neither does," Alya whispered to Sophia. Both Sophia and Charlie laughed where no one could see.
