Chapter 2: Unexpected Events

Hours had gone by at this point. Alya wanted to do something, anything to help and get things moving.

"We need more medicine," Alya heard Jack say.

"I'm coming with you," a woman said. Alya thought she was gorgeous with her brown hair and brown eyes.

"No that isn't a good idea Kate," Jack replied. Kate smiled, Jack knew there was no way to get her from not going.

"Fine, just stay with me,".

 
"I'm coming too," Charlie said.

"Me too," Alya said.

"No you have to take care of your mom,"

 "She'll be okay, she's strong. Plus it's only for an hour if not less," Alya said.

 "Alya-" "Let her come," Kate said, smiling. Alya smiled back, she excitedly went back to get her stuff. Sophia was there slightly awake.

"Alya, where are you going?" Sophia said in a sleepy voice.

"I'm just going to help the others," Alya said while multitasking."No, you aren't going," Sophia said, trying to regain her consciousness. 

"Mom you can't control me," Alya said, trying to maintain her courage. 

"Alya McKenna Thorn, you listen..to..m...," Sophia started but she quickly dozed off. 

"I gave her sleeping pills," Jack said from behind.

"What does that-" "It doesn't harm her, she just needs to rest. Now come on," 

About 30 minutes had passed since the gang had started off on their journey. The more Jack talked the more Alya disliked him. He was annoying, arrogant, and whiny, everything Alya hated. She knew if Sophia was there she would have hated it too.

"What did you do? For your job, before we crashed," Charlie said with a smile. Alya smiled back,

"I didn't have much of a job, I'm still in college. But I did do some cashier work,". Charlie gently laughed at that.

"What about you?"

"I was a singer for a band,"

"Oooh what band?" Alya asked."Drive Shaft, it was really cool British band, we were quite popular," Charlie said. Alya smiled.

"We're here," Kate said.

Few hours prior

"It is now time to board. Please make your way to the gate," A woman yelled.

"Come on Ally," Sophia said, very annoyed.

"Oh leaving so soon," Sawyer said.

 She grabbed Alya's arm and went off quickly giving Sawyer a look of disdain.

"Who was that man?" Alya asked.

"I don't know. Ugh he's so annoying," Sophia said.

"I think he likes you," Alya said jokingly. Sophia went serious,

"No, I've known men like that, they just see a single woman and assume they will do anything for them. Then they take advantage of them until they practically beg to stay.. No, he just wants a woman dumb enough," 

"Mama..." Alya started realizing something was wrong

."No, we have to get going, come on," Sophia said, grabbing Alya's arm dragging her through the airport.

Current Time
They had arrived at the crash. It was exactly what Alya had pictured. The plane was mostly destroyed luggage and debris everywhere.
