Opening the doors to the room where Jellal awaited, both Erza and Yu entered simultaneously, their resolve unyielding as they stepped into the dark and gloomy chamber. Seated upon his throne, Jellal's gaze shifted from the chessboard before him to the two intruders. With deliberate movements, he placed the knight and bishop pieces on the board, symbolizing Erza and Yu respectively, acknowledging their roles in his intricate game.

Jellal sighed, rising from his throne with an air of resignation. "Don't tell me the game's over already?" he asked, his tone tinged with a hint of disappointment as he regarded Erza and Yu before him.

"You find that much pleasure in toying with the lives of others?" Erza asked, her voice dripping with venom as she confronted Jellal, her disdain for his actions palpable in her words.

"Between the moment of our birth and the time of our death, there is only that game we call life," Jellal preached, his words echoing through the room as he walked towards a wall adorned with several paintings. "What could be more dreary than to exist day after day?" he pondered, pausing to face Erza directly. "It's been a long time, Erza," Jellal acknowledged, his tone tinged with a mixture of nostalgia and solemnity as he addressed his former comrade.

"It certainly has," Erza replied, her voice carrying a weight of memories and emotions as she acknowledged the passage of time and the events that had transpired between them.

Jellal turned his attention towards Yu, who had remained silent throughout the interaction. "So you're the famous Earth Dragon Slayer, Zhong Yu?" Jellal inquired, his gaze piercing as he addressed Yu. "I must thank you for taking care of Erza for me," he added with a hint of sarcasm. "But seeing as though you are fully healed and your magic has returned, I can only assume Asmodeus betrayed me," Jellal concluded, his tone betraying a calm yet underneath were seething rage from this unexpected development.

"He did," Yu confirmed, meeting Jellal's gaze evenly. "He and I had a nice dinner back at that dining room, and he told me a particular story. He revealed that he and Urseala were not your pawns but your allies in resurrecting Zeref," Yu disclosed, his voice steady as he relayed the information he had gleaned from his encounter with Asmodeus.

"Yes, that is correct," Jellal confirmed, his expression unreadable as he acknowledged Yu's words. "They wish to resurrect someone through Lord Zeref, and I wish to resurrect Zeref. Our goals aligned. So, naturally, we'd become allies," he explained, offering insight into the complexities of their alliance and shared objectives.

"I see..." Yu replied simply, his expression unreadable as he absorbed the information. In truth, he had already deduced Asmodeus's goals and their implications when the demon had revealed them during their earlier encounter.
