"You had one job boy", I clench my fist at the old man's words. Its been almost ten minutes since I had delivered the news to Mr Rai and the man hadn't stopped pacing since then. A shower of obstenities had greeted me from the moment the words had left my mouth. My patience was running thin and my fist would have connected with his jaw had it not been for Mr Agnihotri's warning looks from across the room.

"Madhav, it was an unpredicted event. Besides, that woman isn't common in these circles, according to my sources", Lalit tries to calm down the raging storm but the old dickhead doesn't listen as he keeps on walking. How wonderful it would be if I could slam that walking stick on his knees and bring him down. But nah, I want to watch him beg beside my throne. I will watch his tears rain on the ashes of his empire build on lies as I kill him inch by inch. He has already died a thousand deaths inside my head but his doom shall have to wait. This revenge has been years in the making.

"You lost to a woman", he sneers at me as if the mere thought of it should insult my masculinity. Its ironic considering the fact that he sits on his dead wife's throne.

"Sorry sir", I bow my head in a false plea for forgiveness. I don't understand how foolish I had been at 18 to hand over my family business to this old man in return for guidance.

"I don't want to see your face. Get out of here, boy", he shouts. Same to you, sir, I swear in my mind.

Lalit signals with his eyes begging me to get out. So I do exactly that. I here the faint whispers of him trying to plead my case to the old man but all he gets in response are curse words. Walking hastily, I take a turn from the corridoor when I catch a glimpse of a shadow. Shaking my head I walk out through the big doors as the valet brings my car. Taking over the steering from him, I drive to my office. Rajawat corporates, although now a subsidiary under Rai Industries still has a separate office. At 18, when my paralysed father had handed over the business to me, I knew nothing of this field. So in return for guidance, I had made the worst mistake of my life. Madhav Rai had offered unlimited help in return for the hotel, entertainment and textiles branch of Rajawat Corporates, leaving me with only the legal and consultancy firms of my family business. Being a novice to the complexities of the fucked up market, I had viewed this as a partnership instead of an attempt at tyranny. I punch the steering wheel having lost my last chance at fooling him. "Great work, Dhruv."

I can't still figure out how that woman knew my name, I had my face covered like every one there.

I take a right turn as the office building comes into few. Handing over the car to the valet, I make my way up using the lift. The place doesn't lack amenities since the old man couldn't have an office associated with him which didn't live up to his standards.
