As the two members of S.T.A.R.S. made their way through town, Amy thought to ask, "How'd you know about that thing?" Jet sighed as he explained, "That monster or whatever attacked me at my own place too. I was all set to leave with everything packed up, but I couldn't due to the riots, when it came barreling through my door and tried to kill me. I grabbed what I could and jumped out the window and into the alley, making a run for it. All I could grab was a bit of cash and a granola bar though, so I opted to get to the nearest payphone and warn you."

"But why did it stop chasing you and come after me?" Amy asked as the two passed an old movie theater. "I don't think it expected me to survive the jump from my window. Fortunately, all that agility training I did payed off since I can't exactly fly on my own, ironic, no?" Jet explained as he looked at his arms. When looking at the surrounding carnage, Amy asked, "How'd this all happen so fast?"

"That's one thing I dunno. But one f!$#ed up thing always leads to another. It's like Arklay on steroids. " Jet said as he took the lead, blocking his face from a small explosion nearby. The two of them then heard the familiar sound of a helicopter as one flew over the two of them. Jet then ran forward as he yelled out, waving his arms, "Hey! Hey, wait! Down here! Ah, god dammit..." Amy fought through the pain to catch up to Jet, with things continuing to explode around them.

"We've gotta be dreaming. How could this many people be infected?" Amy said desperately. Jet was facing a gated fence with infected people clawing at it from the other side. "No no no, no! This was open when I came through! Who could have closed it!?" Jet angrily shouted as he stomped his foot. He turned to face Amy as she saw what was happening beyond the gate and shouted, "Jet! Here they come!"

He turned back to see that the infected were beginning to climb the makeshift wall and even knock down segments so others could get through. He quickly looked around before spotting the nearby bar and shouted, "In here!" He motioned for Amy to follow as she watched the infected slowly get up. "There's so many..." She said in fear as she quickly made her way over to Jet, who threw the nearby sign at the zombies to try and slow them down. The two of them quickly got into the bar and slammed the door behind them, bracing for when one of the zombies slammed into the door.

Jet held the doors closed as he pointed to the other side of the bar and said, "Door behind you! Go!" Amy quickly made her way over before she turned back at the sound of Jet screaming in pain. Jet was still pressing up against the doors, but a zombie had broken through and bit Jet on his upper arm. "Jet!" Amy screamed as she grabbed a kitchen knife and jabbed it into the head of the zombie, forcing it back out into the streets and allowing the two to close the door. As they both pressed against the door, Amy said to Jet, but also partly to herself, "Don't think about it. We're gonna make a run for it!" The door was once again slammed into by a zombie, but the two kept the door closed this time.

"C'mon, Ame's. We know how this ends." Jet said as he looked at his friend. "No, I don't." Amy said defiantly as she locked eye contact with the hawk. "Are we still a team?" Jet asked, fighting through the pain. "Always." Amy said as she looked down. "Then do me a favor and don't f!#$ up like I did. Go!" Jet said as he pushed Amy away from the door and began holding it by himself. Amy ran to the back door once again as she looked back at her friend one last time before heading through the door and shutting it behind her. Jet closed his eyes and smiled, reminding himself of all the good times he had on S.T.A.R.S. with the others. He also knew that if anyone had the grit and determination to not only survive, but find a way to stop the whole infection and Chaos Umbrella with it, it would be Amy Rose Valentine.

Amy began walking away from the door as she said somberly, "I'm sorry, Jet..." She walked through the alleyway and soon came across a dead police officer up against the wall. She took a breath and said, "Sorry." Before she began to take all of the officers gear off and put it on herself. She also pulled off the spare ammunition off of the dog and used it to reload her gun which she still had with her. Getting everything organized, she grabbed the gun the officer also had on him and put it into the holster she grabbed to save for later in case she needed to use it.
