Growing up you saw all the heroes and villains on tv and while all the other kids where looking up to the heroes and rooting for them to win fights you were silently rooting for the villains. You don't know why but you always liked the villains more than the heroes.

But then you grew up and when you got your power, the power of delusion and creating the delusion into reality, you were immediately seen as very powerful and offered a fully paid for place in the heroes academy. Your parents loved the idea of their daughter being a hero so you agreed even though you hated the idea of being a hero.

That was when you were 14. You spent 4 years in the academy before graduating and becoming a licensed hero at 18. Now your 21 and the biggest name in the hero industry because of the amount of criminals and villains you stop and the amount of civilians you save.

But after all these years of working to become a hero and then actually being one, you still hate it. You don't like being told what to do and when to do it. You don't like the press conferences or the paparazzi that somehow found your address.

"You look down." You hear a familiar voice say from behind you and you get up from the roof ledge you're sitting on and turn to face the man on the roof.

"Just thinking." You tell him. He's the villain you've been fighting with for a few months now. He's good at fighting and is powerful, having the power to see and manipulate someone's mind. You're both actually fairly civil with each other until the news finds you and then you have to fight so they don't think something is wrong.

"About what?" He asks despite he could literally just use his power and check for himself. He never seems to look through your mind, just manipulate it to make you stop fighting him if the fight gets to violent.

"Like I'd tell you." You say with a scoff. If he wants to know then he has to look for himself.

"I don't like going through peoples minds. It's invasive. Tell me." He tells you. You've heard him say he doesn't like going through people minds before but he's never mentioned he considered it invasive.

"Go ahead. I don't care how invasive it is. But if you say a single word about anything to anyone I'll kill you and make it look like a fight gone wrong." You tell him and he tilts his head curiously at you before you feel his familiar power in your mind, this time not manipulating though.

A few moments go by before he steps back and you feel his power leave your mind. "You... why? Why do you keep being a hero if you don't want to?" He immediately asks you with clear shock in his tone.

"Why do you think? Did you not see how happy my parents were when I agreed to go to the academy? Did you not see how scared the heroes were before I agreed, when they thought I could be a potential danger to them? They would have locked me up or killed me if I had turned them down with the power I have." You tell him with slight venom in your tone.

"They can't now. You're to powerful now. Why continue?" He asks you.

"What do you mean? I continue because if I don't then everyone will hate me. My own family will hate me." You answer him despite knowing you don't care if they all hate you if you could actually be happy. Being a hero doesn't make you happy.

"You don't care. You want to be happy and being a hero doesn't do that for you." He has to say and now you regret saying he can go through your mind.

"Just-" Your sentence just cut off bye the sound of the new helicopter getting closer. "Shit. Of course they show up now."

You lunge first, him immediately blocking your punch before you both fall into a fmailiar dance of punch's, kicks, dodges, and blocks. You both know you have to fight if the news is around.
