Killian Lagarde, the golden boy of the town, who doesn't know him? The determined gaze that glimmered amber eyes, his perfectly groomed dark black hair, his white button-up shirt with his signature yellow vest and black tie. He's perfect, with a perfect family, perfect grades, perfect life, perfect this, perfect that, perfect-
So why isn't this?! He slammed his fist on the desk in frustration, glaring at the test papers in front of him, the urge to tear it to pieces was strong. He had always gotten A's on his test, he was always on the top spot, the spot that was rightfully his, that he deserved to have. So how could this happen?! How could someone so ignorant, idiotic, imbecilic, and all of the other censored swear words Killian could think of somehow manage to not only outscore him, but doing it without doing so much as sleeping in class and causing chaos while Killian had worked so hard to keep his high academic status?!
Xero, also known as the worst troublemaker for miles on end, and of course he was oh-so proud of that fact as well. He had been suspended for a year (the best year Killian's ever had with that idiot gone), which was no surprise really. When the school had been vandalised, it was clear who had set fire to the science department from the massive 'X' spray painted on the wall in vibrant purple, a signature sign of the troublemaker. No one knows why he did it, but everyone knew not to expect a reason from the boy. He was a chaos magnet after all, spending most of his nights riding his motorcycle with his group of friends, who had managed to only get a month of detention from the incident after they found that it was Xero who had initiated the entire thing, hiding from the police, okay well- maybe not hiding, that was never Xero's thing. He was loud and proud about it, constantly pulling large scandals off just to distract the cops a little longer, and as idiotic as he was, he was irritatingly good at it. And yet, on the first day back (yes, for some ungodly reason, they let the boy go back to school), he had managed to pass a test he hardly even knew the topic off and threw Killian off his perfect record, which didn't do too well on Killian's already hindered perspective of the boy, not that Xero himself cared, of course,
What was even more irritating was that the pathetic clown had scored higher than Killian in the recent test, stealing away the top spot that was rightfully his, humiliating him and his family name as rage and jealously coursed through his veins. How the sausage did he get so good without even trying? Killian thought of all kinds of excuses, simply unable to accept the sudden stroke of intelligence that came from Xero. He had bribed the teacher, cheated somehow, yes that's it, he must've cheated! Annoyance continued to spread, which only made him more determined, scrambling to find another sheet of paper to write on, promptly shoving his awful test score of 98% under his masses of textbooks and notes, sighing angrily to himselfHe'll outsmart that clown, if it's the last thing he ever does. He won't rest until that pathetic idiot is put in his place.
