"She was being such an asshole Lo! All because she thinks I went on a date! Even if I did she's the one who said she wanted to be friends!" I ranted while painting angrily.
Lauren was sat in my beanbag chair eating some mango while actively listening. "So...I may or may not have been the one to let it slip that you went on a date...I was telling Gina how bored I was cause you and Dani were both elsewhere but I didn't know Taraji was there!"
I sighed "I'm not even mad at you but still I'd like to clarify that it was not a date! I don't even think I like men anymore. His dad is one of baba's new clients and he has no friends so we got food and I showed him around New York but it was strictly platonic."
She nodded "Okay bestie...I'm sorry again!" I shook my head. "Stop apologizing. She should be the one apologizing. As a matter of fact now I feel like I should take my ass on a fucking date" I spat as I painted harsh strokes.
Lauren chuckled and shook her head "Tasia please! Both of y'all need to calm down and then have a conversation. Gina said she's been trying to talk to you"
Dipping my brush in the water I switched colors. "I tried to have a conversation! She wanted to be an ass about it. Hell yeah she's been trying to talk to me. Only time I've spoken to her this week was about Kujo and even then I don't care to hear what she has to say! Now all of a sudden she wants to talk? Girl fuck you!"
Lauren laughed at my words. I was about to keep going before I heard a knock at the door. "That's her ass now. Can you go open the door for Kujo? Don't let her ass in and lock the door when you close it in case she tries to sneak her way in here"
Lo got up and went to do as I asked. I heard her speak for a little before the door closed. Kujo ran in and sat at the door waiting for me to let him come in. I put my paints on the table out of his reach and patted my thighs. He ran over and snuggled into me. "Hi baby boyyy. You had fun with your bipolar ass mama?" I cooed at him. Lo fell off the beanbag laughing.
"Fantasia be serious please!" She said cackling. I shrugged "I am" I went to sit next to her laying my head on her shoulder.
"She's just so confusing. One minute she's doing relationship-ish shit then we're just friends then she gets mad at some shit like this. Taraji needs to figure out what the fuck she wants and fast."
Lauren nudged me "You and I both know what she wants! Yes she needs to get it together and open her mouth but if she didn't want you she wouldn't act like this. My question is do you want her?"
Biting my bottom lip I nodded "Yeah...quite frankly I've wanted her since I met her. Didn't even know what her face looked like and I was stuck with her big headed ass." I said frustratedly. Kujo barked making us both laugh.
"Not he telling you to stop talking trash about his mama!" I snickered and picked him up. "I'm sorry stinka" I said cuddling him.
"Promise that you'll talk to her the next time she tries?" I side eyed my best friend. "I didn't say all that now"
She smacked my arm "Girl if you don't get your stubborn ass on! I get your feelings were hurt by the situation but you gotta meet her halfway not even halfway just be open to hearing what she has to say we can only be brats to certain extents bestie" She teased.
I laughed because we were without a doubt spoiled to the max. Blame our dads!
I blew my breath and sat back. I rolled my eyes. "Fine. Anyways enough about me! You and Gina good?"
She smiled so hard her dimples made an appearance. "Yes! Ugh Tasia she's just...everything. I feel like I can be in my soft girl era with her and she's so open and honest with me about everything. I've never had that before. I get butterflies...like real deal butterflies. Almost blocked her ass when I first felt it!"
Laughing I shook my head at my best friend. "I'm so happy for you bestie I can tell she makes you really happy. She seems like a good woman" Lauren nodded in agreement but she had a specific look on her face that I couldn't decipher.
"What's wrong?" She huffed "Her job...like I don't know...it doesn't seem off to you that they randomly have days where they're off the grid? Or that they never really talk about work? Whenever I ask her she gives me a "work was work" answer then switches it to me"
I immediately shook my head "Uht uht Lo certain things I don't ask questions about. For all we know they may work for the government and we're not supposed to know. Leave it be. It's not like they're assassins or something. Plus our dads literally ran the east and west coast it doesn't get any crazier than that"
Lauren chuckled and nodded "Yeah...you're right. You think they still in it?" She asked referring to our dads.
I nodded immediately "Absolutely. Definitely not as heavy as before but they definitely still have a hand in it somehow I think on top of the other stuff."
We switched topics and eventually got in the topic of our third. "Has Dani been...off to you lately?" I raised a brow and thought about it.
"I mean no not really I don't think. Why?" She shrugged "I don't know she's just been distant."
"You know how she gets when she has a man. That's just Dani"
After taking a little nap Lauren woke me up. "Okay get up we're going to the game night" I groaned knowing that would mean I'd have to see Taraji.
"Yeah yeah groan all you want but you are coming!"
Not bothering to argue I threw on some sweats and a cropped shirt. I grabbed Kujo and we left out.
I hope this game night doesn'tturnoutto be some bullshit. ______________ Yes I knowwww it's short I'm sorry!
