As the days at U.A. High passed, Shinsou found himself increasingly drawn to Y/N's company. Their friendship had blossomed into something deeper, something he couldn't quite put into words. Yet, despite the warmth he felt in her presence, there were still moments of doubt that lingered in the corners of his mind.
One night, unable to sleep, Shinsou found himself wandering the empty hallways of the dormitory. His thoughts swirled with questions about his future, his aspirations, and the growing connection he felt with Y/N.
Lost in his musings, he almost didn't notice the faint sound of footsteps echoing in the distance. Turning a corner, he spotted Y/N sitting on a windowsill, her gaze fixed on the moonlit sky.
"Y/N?" he called out softly, surprised to find her awake at such a late hour.
She turned to him, a smile lighting up her features. "Hey, Shinsou. Can't sleep?"
He shook his head, joining her by the window. "No, my mind is too restless tonight."
They sat in comfortable silence for a while, the only sound the gentle rustle of the night breeze. Shinsou found himself stealing glances at Y/N, her presence a soothing balm to his troubled thoughts.
"Sometimes, it helps to talk about what's bothering you," she said softly, breaking the silence. "If you want to, of course."
Shinsou hesitated, unsure if he could articulate the jumble of emotions swirling inside him. But then he remembered Y/N's unwavering support, her ability to understand him without judgment.
"I guess...I'm just not sure if I'm cut out to be a hero," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I have this quirk, but sometimes it feels like a burden more than a gift."
Y/N reached out, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. "Shinsou, your quirk is incredible. And more importantly, you're incredible. I've seen the determination in your eyes, the way you never give up, no matter how tough things get. You have what it takes to be a hero, I know it."
Her words washed over him like a wave of reassurance, dispelling the doubts that had plagued him for so long. With Y/N by his side, he felt invincible, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
"Thank you, Y/N," he said, a genuine smile tugging at his lips. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
She smiled back, squeezing his shoulder gently. "Anytime, Shinsou. Anytime."
As they sat together in the quiet of the night, Shinsou realized that no matter what the future held, as long as he had Y/N by his side, he could conquer anything that came his way.
