As the bell rang, signaling the end of another mundane school day, (Y/N) gathered his books and slung his backpack over his shoulder. As he made his way through the crowded hallway, his mind wandered to the basketball tryouts scheduled for later that afternoon. Basketball was his passion, his escape from the pressures of high school life.

Lost in thought, (Y/N) rounded a corner and collided with someone, sending both of them stumbling backward. He quickly reached out to steady the person, his heart racing as he looked up to meet their gaze. Standing before him was Tara Carpenter, the enigmatic girl from his English class.

"Sorry about that," (Y/N) stammered, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I wasn't paying attention." Tara flashed him a warm smile, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "No harm done," she replied, her voice soft and melodious. "I'm Tara, by the way."

(Y/N)'s heart skipped a beat at the sound of her name. He had admired Tara from afar, captivated by her intelligence and effortless grace. "I'm (Y/N)," he managed to say, trying to keep his composure.

As they stood there, awkwardly sizing each other up, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel a strange feeling forming in his abdomen. It was as if butterflies had invaded his stomach.

Before (Y/N) could gather his thoughts, Tara spoke up again, breaking the silence. "So, basketball tryouts today, huh?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.

(Y/N) nodded, his pulse quickening at the mention of his beloved sport. "Yeah, I've been looking forward to it all week," he admitted, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips.

Tara's heart skipped a beat, his smile was perfect. He looked so cute, his charming smile seemed to be contagious, as Tara now dawned a cute smile. Her eyes lit up with genuine interest at his answer to her remark. "Well, I'll be sure to cheer you on from the sidelines," she said with a playful wink.

(Y/N) felt a surge of excitement coursing through him at the thought of Tara watching him play. "I'd like that," he replied, his confidence growing with each passing moment.

As they parted ways, (Y/N) couldn't shake the feeling that their encounter was just the beginning of something truly special. Little did he know, Tara felt the same way, her heart fluttering with anticipation at the prospect of getting to know him better.

And so, as the sun began to set on another ordinary day, (Y/N) made his way to the gym for tryouts, he was pumped since he knew that Tara would be there to cheer him on.

The gymnasium buzzed with energy as (Y/N) stepped onto the basketball court, his heart pounding with anticipation. He scanned the bleachers, searching for a familiar face among the crowd. Spotting Tara sitting near the front row, with a few friends. A wave of nervous excitement washed over him.

With a deep breath, (Y/N) focused his attention on the task at hand, determined to give it his all during the tryouts. As he dribbled the ball and took shots, he could feel Tara's eyes on him, her presence serving as a source of motivation.

After what felt like an eternity, the tryouts came to an end, and (Y/N) joined the other hopefuls on the sidelines, waiting anxiously for the coach's decision. As the coach began announcing the team roster, (Y/N)'s heart raced with anticipation.

"And finally," the coach declared, scanning the list, "our last spot goes to... (Y/N) (L/N)!"

A chorus of cheers erupted from the bleachers as (Y/N)'s teammates congratulated him on making the team. But amidst the excitement, (Y/N)'s gaze never wavered from Tara, who beamed with pride from her seat. He smiled and winked playfully at her, making her laugh at his playful antics.

After the tryouts, (Y/N) made his way over to Tara, a triumphant smile plastered across his face. "Did you see that?" he exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement.
