It has been six months since Vee and Mark started dating. After a good night's sleep with his lover Mark, Vee woke up alone in bed. Thinking that Mark was preparing breakfast, Vee got up to freshen up. Twenty minutes later, Vee was clean and ready to start the day. He went to the kitchen, but Mark wasn't there. As he made his way to the living room, he found Mark standing with his back to him outside on the front porch. Vee attempted to open the glass door, but it was locked. He tried again and again, but the door wouldn't budge. Since his house is a smart villa, he used the passcode to enter. However, the passcode didn't work, and the system denied him access. He noticed his key and smartphone on the outside table. He called out to Mark, thinking that he must have been playing a prank on him.
"Mark, are you messing with my passcode? This isn't funny. You've locked me inside. Open the door, please."
As soon as Mark heard Vee's voice, he turned around and smiled. Vee looked at him in confusion. "Why are you doing this? Come on, man let me out."
"Just stay inside like that."
"I don't know what kind of game you're playing, but okay, you win. Now open up."
"No."
Vee's heart was pounding as he stared at Mark, trying to read the expression on his face. He couldn't tell what was going on, and it was making him nervous. "What's happening? How long do we have to stay like this?" he asked, his voice shaking.
Mark shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe forever."
Vee's face fell. "What? No, you can't be serious. Please, just open the door and let's talk about this. Don't keep me in the dark like this."
"I've been wanting to talk to you about something," Mark said slowly.
"Then let's talk! Please, Mark, I'm starting to get really scared."
Mark raised an eyebrow. "Scared? Why would you be scared?"
"I don't know what's going on, and you're not telling me anything. I'm scared you might leave me again," Vee said with a trembling voice.
Mark let out a laugh. "Leave you? Why would I do that? I have to have a reason to leave you, right?"
Vee felt a wave of relief wash over him. "Thank god. I thought you were going to abandon me or something."
Mark took a step closer to the glass window that separated them. "Do you remember when you were in high school?"
This conversation led to an unknown, and it confused Vee. "Yes, Mark, I remember. What about it?"
"You used to bully someone," Mark said bluntly.
Vee's face flushed with embarrassment. "I know, I know. I was young and stupid. I've changed since then. Is this what this is all about?"
Mark didn't answer for a few seconds, which only made Vee more nervous. "Mark, please, just open the door. I don't like where this is going."
"Who did you bully?" Mark asked, ignoring Vee's request.
"I don't remember," Vee said, feeling frustrated.
"You don't even remember his face?" Mark pressed.
Vee shook his head, feeling helpless. "No, I don't. It was a long time ago. Why are you bringing this up now?"
Mark looked away, his expression unreadable. "You left a scar on him. Do you remember that?"
Vee felt a cold shiver run down his spine. "What? No, I don't…"
"On his neck. A small scar. Do you remember it?" Mark asked, his eyes locked on Vee's.
Vee's mind raced, trying to make sense of what was happening. And then it hit him: "Wait, don't tell me… You're Four Eyes?"
Mark grinned, a wicked smile that sent chills down Vee's spine. "Long time no see, Vee. Allow me to correct my real name. My name is Marcus. And yes, I'm the kid you used to bully."
Vee's heart felt heavy as his world came tumbling down. He almost forgot to breathe for a second.
Mark let out a small laugh. "Back in the day, you really didn't like me. How do you feel about me now? Do you still love me? You're the one who used to call me pathetic and beat me up in dark alleys."
Vee shook his head, denying Mark's words. "Mark, please..."
"It's been seven years... seeing you again just makes me feel angry. What upsets me the most is that you don't even remember my face, but I've had to live with yours all these years. I pretended to be your boyfriend and pretended to like everything you did, just so I could see you suffer in the end."
Vee's heart shattered into a million pieces. "You tricked me into loving you?" he whispered, his voice cracking.
Mark smirked, his eyes dark with amusement. "Tricked? No, you're just stupid. You fell in love with me without me even doing anything."
Vee's eyes filled with tears as he struggled to find the words. "Mark, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for hurting you. Please forgive me."
Mark shook his head, his expression cold. "I won't forgive you. But I'll stop playing with you. It's getting boring. I'll be nice from now on. I'll walk away."
Vee's heart raced as panic set in. He didn't want Mark to leave him. He wanted to hold him, to make him understand the depth of his love. "Please, Mark. Don't leave me. I beg you."
Mark tilted his head, studying Vee's face. "Even though you know who I am, you still want to stay with me?" he asked incredulously.
Vee nodded desperation in his eyes. "I don't care who you are. I just know that love you."
Mark let out a bitter laugh, his eyes cold. "You love me?"
Vee nodded frantically. "I love you, Mark. I swear. Please, just open the door."
Vee's tears streamed down his face as he desperately pleaded with Marcus. But Marcus took a step back, then another, and another, until he was out of sight.
Vee pounded on the window, his cries echoing into the distance. "Mark! Please, don't do this! Don't leave me!"
But Marcus was determined. He had achieved his ultimate revenge, making Vee crave his love and attention. Now, he had to vanish from Vee's life forever. It was a bittersweet victory but one he knew he had to take.
