Charlie's POV

Later that day I had a shift at The Coffee House when my friends walked in and settled into our regular spot, which, as of late, was becoming more their spot than mine.

"Hey." I approached them, hands tucked into the pockets of the hideous apron that I was forced to wear. I mean, there are aprons and then there's whatever this monstrosity was...

"Sup." Clayton was the first to greet me.

"I'll take everything, on the house." Ella joked with a smile.

"Nice try." I chuckled before resting my eyes on Adelaide. "I'm sorry for my previous outburst." I said to her with all the sincerity that I could muster.

"You don't need to apologise." She replied.

"Yeah, I do." I say. "You didn't deserve me biting your head off, so whatever it is you wanted to talk to me about, I'm ready to listen."

"Maybe we can talk later on?" She suggested.

It had to be something to do with he-who-must-not-be-named. And no, I am not referring to the dark lord.

I mean, why else would she want to talk privately with me? I doubt it had anything to do with Clayton, though, on the off chance that perhaps it is about Clayton, I shouldn't jump to conclusions.

I mean, for all I know she could want to talk to me about global warming.

"Sure." I smiled before turning my attention to Ella and Clayton. "Now, what would y'all like to order?"

"The usual." Ella answered.

In the mornings, the usual referred to Mochas. But in the afternoons, the usual referred to loaded fries and milkshakes.

Clayton always went with chocolate.

Ella refuses to order any flavor other than classic Vanilla.

And Adelaide preferred caramel.

If I weren't working, I probably would have gone with either Vanilla or Strawberry.

"And I'll have a banana milkshake." Ordered someone from behind me. I turned around to come face to face with none other than Ella's cousin, and I immediately scowled.

Is he serious?

A banana milkshake?

That is like the worst flavor!

The thought of it makes me want to dry heave.

I stare daggers at him as I look him up and down. "You'll have a what?" I asked again.

"A banana milkshake." He says with a fake smile plastered across his face. "Please."

"Right away, sir." I respond with sarcasm before turning back to my friends and telling them that I would be right back.

Moments later, I return to the booth with four regular baskets of loaded fries. "Here are your fries." I say before heading back to get the freshly made milkshakes and bringing them over to the table on a tray. "And here are your milkshakes."

Clayton groaned with satisfaction after taking an eager sip from his milkshake.

"Uh, this is not banana." Says Teo, deadpanned.

"Oh?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "That's too bad."

"Is this... strawberry?" He wondered, panic in his eyes.

"Yes?" I was almost too afraid to respond.

"I'm allergic to strawberries." He struggles to breathe.

Fudge!
